So you can run the 197/200 pistons with the 1*2 head ok? Didn't know that. I thought going the whole hog and fitting 197/200 head was required, though I don't know why 😂
Does the 197/200 use a high CR than the 172?
f**k me sideways. These will always remain on my list of all-time cool cars, but it's reading stuff like that that makes me realise that I will never have one!
I don't really know much about them to be honest. It's probably ok, but have never even sat in a non-RS MK3 Clio. I think I may struggle to choose one over an EcoBoost Fiesta though. I think the MK7 Fiesta is a great little car anyway and the EcoBoost lump seems to have plenty of room for...
My car has the Fatty set-up. One of the best things I did to the car. Costs naff all and makes it sound proper angry. Great mod in my eyes. Looks better than the Ktec in my view too. Don't really like massively long silicone hoses, think it looks a bit odd.
That JY is lovely. Worth every penny if the resto is as good as it looks. There can't be another like it. If I had just won the Euro, I would have no problem adding that to my collection.
Love that. Do like a Nova.
The V6 Clio really is a car we will never see the likes of again. As you say, it will keep on going up in value and, the more all this electric nonsense is forced on us, the more people will crave things like this. Must have been a riot driving it in the Alps. Would love to do another road trip...
Don't think I've ever driven a 182. Have driven normal 172 and Cup though. I doubt you'd really notice any difference in terms of driving in reality. Not in the real world. The lack of equipment and worse interior is more likely to be noticed. Saying that, do I regret buying my Cup over a more...
I had a Cup which I used daily for over a year and did something silly like 25k in. It wasn't that bad, but I think a FF would have been much nicer. Like you though, the Cup was the one I wanted, so I couldn't have gone for a 182 I don't think.
To be fair though, if you stick some Turinis on an...
That was me :tongueclosed:
My friend has a silver five-door 130i M-Sport and, generally speaking, I really I like it. I think it's a nice looking car, seems to go well, sounds pretty decent and is a bit different from the usual hot hatches. However, any car with orange dashboard lighting feels...
Hasn't he said that he times them differently to how other people have in the past? So, regardless of the debate surrounding the plausibility of the peak dyno figures in isolation, it may not be relevant to compare previous results directly to his results.
I'm not trying to come down on either...
Well, seeing as @bloke is effectively representing EFI in this discussion, have any of his 197'd cars been on any other dynos? While there will always be discrepancy for a million-and-one factors, it might show if there are any trends.
Alternatively, we could all just have a biscuit and relax...
Well this thread has gone to poop a bit hasn't it. Shame, could be an interesting topic.
Agreed, but it would be interesting to see a few curves. There will always be discrepancies, but that's life.
Have a 197'd and aftermarket cammed car ever been on a dyno back-to-back? I know there would still be plenty of room for discrepancy, but it would be interesting to see the curves.
Genuine Renault ones in my view. Aftermarket ones are usually half the price because they're half the quality. I spoke to Mark Fish and he said poly bushes are a waste of time in his view. Just fit the Renault ones and forget.
What do you intend on using the car for? If it's just a weekend you, you could try a bit of weight reduction. Probably more cost effective.
Engine Dynamics offer a turbo conversion but it's all or nothing really, not something you can do in stages so much.
But don't you just throw money at...
Yeah would love to see some pictures. It seems to divide opinion, but I think they can look ace with the S1600 kit. Cage it and put a lairy F4R on bodies in it and it would be epic.
It's worth pointing out that the UK is a weird market. Go to the ring and the Germans are nearly all driving the paddle shift variant of their BMW M-car or VAG hot hatch in my experience. Renault are in the business of making money, so obviously felt going EDC was the way to broaden their appeal...
This is a whole new level for RS owners isn't it? As well as arguing about the benefits of mudflaps, they can now compare pictures of head gaskets too 😂
