Crash helmets, where to buy from?

Hedtec get reasonable reviews. They are mostly FIA compliant (so meet SNELL requirements), meaning they will have passed FIA safety tests, which track day-only helmets won't have been subject to.

ClioSport Festival 2018 - Book Tickets & Track Time Now!

Are there many track spaces left? Still tempted to come, but getting the car up there is a bit awkward.

Crash helmets, where to buy from?

These get good reviews for the price: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Hedtec-Rapido-FHR-HANS-Open-Face-Motorsport-Helmet-Snell-SA2015/253025655452?hash=item3ae9811a9c%3Am%3Aml5CvWwO4xeY0lu_uSU2WXQ&var=552081243200 If you can, I would 100% get one that is approve for motorsport use. It will be...

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Thanks mate. Already got four in my pod, but been offered one of the uber six lamp pods from an Escort Maxi, so might need to buy it lol

Trimited Clio 1.6 16v Rally Car

If you want a bit more power, could you use any parts from the Twingo 133? I believe they have a variant of the K4M? What gearbox does the car have? Is it a JC5, similar to the Clio 172/182?

    JDM - Ph1 Clio v6

Car looks great. Think I would have the bonnet painted to match the car, but love it otherwise. Bet that will turn a few heads over there.

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Let me know where you get the lamps from Nathan, might need a couple myself.

    200 EDC v Meg 250 cup better daily/track car

The cloth Recaros do seem very susceptible to wear and tear, much more so than the leather. If he is willing to drop the price a bit, I would probably still go for it.

    Which phone with decent camera?

No idea how much used ones are, but the Camera on my Pixel is pretty good. Phone is tough too.

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

I admit I am biased (worked on the GT project) but they are such a stunning car. As for the R8 comparison, there isn't really a comparison to be honest. The GT is a level above the Audi, it's a proper bit of kit.

Was the V90 a straight six, or a vee?

Glad it got repaired, always liked that car.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Clio had a higher Euro NCAP rating than the Discovery though!

    James' Phase 1 Clio 172

Does look a tidy little car that. Good buy.

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

Visibility is definitely a problem with more modern cars, but it's a result of safety standards improving. Always amazes me how good the visibility is when I drive an older car. I've always loved cars from the 90s to be honest. 80s/90s motors are what I grew up with. Guess that's why I own two...

Huge improvement from when you bought it, looks great!

    Matt’s Megane 265

Not rim tape, but 265 Trophy type wheels. They were optional on 265s. It's actually painted on before the wheels are done in black.

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Sounds remarkably similar to what I did lol. I got such a great deal from MFactory that it made sense to go with their gear kit and their stuff seems quite well-regarded in the Honda scene. Sure the diff should work well. Got to be better than the open one. Even on a dry track, my 172 will spin...

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Not heard of RSX I must say. Is it a helical, or a plate? Mine has a Quaife in it. Would like to go to a plate, but it's a big chunk of money really. Would rather spend it on driving the car. Gearing doesn't sound too bad. I'm sure @EVOgone ran a 5.25 in his pink Clio and rated it. Think mine...

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

It will provided it doesn't break down ? It used to get looks on the road when it was white, I think it might get a few more now! My Escort was just the same. You'd get into third and it felt like it had died. It was a pain in the arse, but managed to get a Focus 'box into mine, so I could get...

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Yeah, mine too. The cars really were something special. You have? I'm touched lol. I don't have many followers. Need to put a bit more time into it really. I'm picking the yellow peril up on Saturday morning. Will be the first proper drive in it since it's been rebuild. The garage have done...

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

I hope so too, but it would make a big difference to me right now, so we'll see. Know what you mean though, I love that generation of cars. Would love any of them really. Look forward to seeing yours on the bodies. Will definitely be at the prom one way or another so will try and find you. The...

KAM Racing - go silly or dont bother project build

I love this build, but the OCD nutter in me would have to clean up all that metal work on the shell lol.

    MrBlonde's 172 cup

Ktec do know how to charge for bits like that. Chinese alloy pipe FTW lol.
  28. massiveCoRbyn

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

I would expect a solid pipe to be louder to be honest. Would have thought the softer silicone (or rubber) would absorb some of it.

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

They do seem really good. As I am quite tall, it's hard to find seats with the shoulder strap holes in a sensible position, so nice to find an off-the-shelf seat that works. I know what you mean, it's probably not the best, but I have been servicing for a friend on it for the best part of ten...
