is your car a mk2 ph1 yes? what engine size?
i would take 40+ postage for it, ive got some pics im just trying to find now. kwik fit would charge 20 quid max cash jobby to fit it, if you went late one afternoon or at a weekend when they arent busy
i have a center section that allows 172 back boxes to fit 1.2/1.4 engines....its the correct bore at the cat end, then a larger bore at the backbox end to allow fitment
its for sale if your after something like that
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
OK bit of an update.....not been doing much as ive been sourcing new parts, steering rack and stuff......had some spare time waiting for parts to arrive before re-fitting ryans engine today. Also spotted the valver box is leaking oil quite badly, not sure where...
heres my pics from today, went down to help put the engine back in....
clutch arrived:
clutch fitted
bay empty ready for fitting....
after a few tries, ryan decided to listen to my idea about the way the engine should go in......and wola ;)
i then left....think hes got all...
i had no arch liners, mine were wound near enough to the bottom thread of the coilover....
christophers is slightly higher, he still has archliners, but i think the bits that rub have worn through
Had a bit of a drive with some other clios, bit dodgy in the wet like, but stopped off for a chat as it started raining... had no tripod on me but here are a few pics:
i looked into this when i was getting mine, being 19 nowhere wanted to know. got someone whos insurance covered them 3rd party on any other insured car to drive it back for me instead
the max that will be stored is 40gb or very close to it
would just do a full backup to the remote site, then incremental from there on.....apart from a few bits and bobs, some MSSQL databases and MYSQL databases, which are just under 1GB in total, they would be backed up daily...
probably have...
currently using tape libraries, they have been fine and relaiable, but we are using old drives, and I dont really want to splash out on a brand spanking new drive, works out cheaper to use remote storage for the size of the place
just wondering if anyone uses remote storage for external backup, I.e a web file storage service.
I remember seeing one ages ago, which im sure was affiliated with yahoo, but i cant remember its name, or find it. They were silly cheap per GB, and cheaper the more you buy....and pretty big...
i had an alienware laptop.....3 years ago, it lasted me 2 years or so......in that time, it fell to bits 10+ times, components just stopping working, etc.....went back 8 or 9 times for repair.......i eventually gave up and bought a mac....
the main issue was crap battery, and dodgy power...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
i doubt it as i *think* the RS's go straight into the bottom of the gearbox.....i remember bmh.01 posting up something about his clio when he had a powerflex dogbone mount on (not solid, just stiffer) and it ended up ripping the threads out of the gearbox...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
nah no 172 engine.....theres a fair few people done that now
the idea was to only use 172 running gear to gain the bigger brakes (and more options brake wise)
dogbone mount was from Coops over on Clio16Valver, its a solid adjustable dogbone mount.
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
yeah its working, light had just come on :approve:
well the 'hybrid' element hasnt been done yet, as its still a standard valver engine, that will change soon.
got alot more waiting to go on, and loads more ideas....so will just have to see what direction it takes :)
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
yeah, i know lol!! i acctually saw the car you bought when it was originally for sale, and left it because I was looking for a black one, but then came across this, lol
I had starting doing this then saw your thread lol, and thought, oh well.....i might change it a bit...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
indeed, its engines nothing special really, i just wanted to go a bit custom with the running gear and a few other things......more coming soon :)
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Day 31
Decided to take a trip upto the garage this morning, to get the car tracked, seeing as everything seemed to be running fine. Got the car up on the ramps, and ended up finding out that the track rod ends would not wind out far enough for it to be tracked correctly...
