Is it the inner or out which wear? Outer are like the Mk1's arn't that difficult. If its the inner ones then with thicker ARb (as I have ) it will be more difficult
?
I'm thinking mine maybe on the way out but my car didn't have coilovers for long and its on stock suspension although most...
Is there a bloke in the picture I cannot see one just a more than a great arse in the picture in tight pants.
Next you'll be trying to convince us theres a car in the picture.
Head gasget sounds the one to blame for £300 just get a seocnd hand engine and drtop it in fix yours and sell it on.
I wouldn't go cut that much off the head.
Ooops sorry I'd guess people will hopefully be able to get them cheap when they start getting crashed and if Renault built them they should be suitable.
If you stick some sort of red die in but you'd wreck the engine.
I think that the VTS/GTi engines suffered from failed head gasgets a fair bit so Thats what I'd recon your problem is.
50psi?
Yep its well and truly broken.
I'm note sure if you could see a crack you should be able to there two ways to findout out
1) NDT testing (expensive)
2) Using your eyes.
4mm off the head is a lot though why so much? a 0.9mm thicker gasget (assuming its stays that thich when you...
Makes the car a bit stiffer.
Only worth it if you want looks or have other modified suspension bits personally.
Front ones are the only ones which make any difference.
Thats an easy way to more power. However a bigish redesign like this whilst costing more is handy as if Vauhall etc launch a 210hp hot hatch to compete Renault can easily stick some cams in the 197 and be equal in the HP stakes in reasonably quick time. Trying to get a camed 182 engine to make...
I've seen a few with over 100k the highest I've seen is 130k.
However there will be some phase 1 172s with way higher about 2 years ago there was one with 110k on it so it must be over 150k by now.
I've heard a rumour there one with over 200k but it mighh just be a rumour/my bad memory.
Check that the plug on the top of the pedal hasn't come off.
Its unliky to be a faulty wire as there two position senors with seperate wiring so for both of them to fail is unlikly.
Assuming they have the same hole spacing yes. Apart from the 1.2 8V all triangular shaped light Clios (bar a very few early 1.2 16V) used 58mm hubs. On the older shape Clio only the more powerful model used the 58mm hubs.
