The figure today wasn't a surprise...i thought it would be around 190 or so. Compared to how it felt when I first got it in Dec 2011 yes...it's noticeably keener.
Lower curve was from a year ago, 19k miles having been driven mostly by the original OAP owners (so likely never seen over 3k rpm) and no doubt on standard 95 fuel.
Upper curve is from today...I've spent the last year putting 22k more miles on it (a daily 50 mile beasting on deserted country A...
Had my 200 on the rollers today, no issues at all and parked it up fine afterwards.
An hour or so later when I come to leave, the ABS warning light along with the ESP light are illuminated and I get two dashboard messages telling me I have errors with both systems. ESP button was non-responsive...
Tea/coffee is laid on FOC by Charlie. Last time there was hot food as well...although that's not always been the case.
Probably best to plan to get something to eat yourself, but drinks will be covered.
They don't rotate...so long as you can get the required pressure on them (and have undone the filler cap on your brake fluid reservoir) they'll push straight back into the caliper body.
Of more concern is getting the pins out...have you ever changed front pads on your 197 before?
Gearbox tips?
Don't rush it. I try to be as smooth as possible with mine, 'feeling' my way gently into each gear. Has been fine so far (42k miles) And works daily without complaint or concern. Having said that I don't doubt for one second that if I attacked it and went for 1/4 mile type rapid...
The issue I see with multiple owners is none of them generally giving a f*** about the long term health prospects of the car.
Taking the 50k mile example with 1 versus 10 owners...would people not see more value in the one owner model? The owner who's likely driven it with a degree of sympathy...

They coped really well with those conditions on that day. I'd not hesitate to go back there again on another set knowing the rain would likely be exactly the same.

Finally got out with an accurate digital tread depth gauge today and my AD08s have 3.0mm front and 2.5mm rear. This is after 11,000 miles.
I only expected 6-8k miles out of a set when I originally bought them, but it looks like I'll see at least 13k. Incredible considering how they feel, grip...
Here's how my 200 has got on over the last month or so. Taking it easy in the bad weather saw a good 2-3 mpg extra until I got bored and started driving it properly again.
Average of 34.1 mpg over its entire life with me so far, 22,741 miles. I'm happy with that.
I'd agree. I got only £2k for my 53 reg 172 Cup in March last year, condition similar to yours (only without a crease in the floor), a few more miles but with full specialist service history showing fluid services every 6k miles from new.
