I've got them on my car and they squeek but you just have to put up with it I'm a bit picky I like a quiet car its only realy noticable at low speeds though round car parks etc.
The other problem is the price £60 for them on mine vs £17 OE pads. If you ant better braking and don't want to pay a...
To some degree yes but it can be minimised to almost nothing my car puts out no smoke that anyone has ever told me about. Its usualy inefficent engines ie
poor servicing
ones which arn't booted enough (particle build up)
ones with the dust collecters removed
badly tunned ones
or ones which...
Unfortunatly thats not the whole story the standard ECU mapping when its running fixed quantity injection are a sort of middle of the road for all engines so that all engine run ok. However you get good and bad engines some which will run leaner than others. Also running a bit leaner has some...
Servicing rules/time/whats done etc (172/182)

Its expensive none Renault dealers I'd say £600~700 or so.
Thats because the fuel gauage isn't accurate when there that much fuel in the tank so the trip just gives up no point trying to guess how much fuel is in the tank.
Nope you sign a liability agreement before you allowed on track if you crash into a Porche its there problem not yours. You've just got your car and th damage you cause to the circuit to deal with.
Last year at Elvinton somone managed to hit the only thing there was which was a fench post and...
£1k at absolulte best if you find someone who wants a mint car for a young drivers first car. More like £7~800 I'd think assuming its got long MOT and tax.
The first service is about £100~150 the second and third are about £180 ~250. The 72k/5year is the big one expect about £850 if you do all they say you should ie coolent chnage and brake fluid.
There a definate write off I'd say the V6 panels as people have said earier are realy expensive.
Another forum members V6 of here was written off after the side panel was damaged and that was a brand new Mk1 V6 (that was when the Mk1 was the new one).
Breaking it won't make much plus you've got to strip it plus get rid of the shell although that can be good fun.
A second hand engine not much and assuming you've some tools hire a engine crane for a day and do the swop on a nice weekend. Then sell it on you won't sell it for much but its...
The trip is very accurate since it runs off the ECU injectro quantity.
In my test after 20k or so it was accurate to 0.1% or something like that.
It just needs some time to settle down say 100 miles minimum.
Thanks for the info.
How come you didn't just go stick a whole 172 looms UCH damsh in ie strip the whole old looms out?
Did you do stick the 182 stearing rack and air con on? Just wondering if you wenwith anew belt etc for the AUX power?
The ECU below 750mbar (about 50~75% throttle) runs a adjustabel map so the fueling is adjusted (it gets its readings from the lambeda in the exhaust manifold) to take account (to a degree) of a more or less restrictive engine. However over 4k or 750mbar manifold pressure it runs a fixed fueling...
197 hp or so the realy speed comes from there gearbox and suspension.
It depends which your talking about the present UK ones I belive run an orbsound exhaust and cat setup (there a Renault part number but you cannot get the part unless you live abroad). Also they run a different intake and a...
There a engine GDI built some time ago which could make 290hp with the bits it had but as it was a racing engine it was detunned no idea what it actually gave in the end though.
Sounds like the turbo adjuster is blocked or the sensors playing up most likly the wastgate is blocked. What what should happen is it adjusts so that you have the right amaount of boost all the time. If it gets stuck then the car reasiles it doesn't have the right amount of boost and puts a bit...
Cuped 182 have 58 or 60mm yubs (I'm sure its 60mm)
172 of all spec and all none Cuped 182's have 54mm hubs
This is why the none Cuped 182 can use the old stuff the only issue was always that the hubs didn't fit . You can always bodge them to fit anyway by drilling 172 hub shocks out a bit and...
It does nothing for the chassic. Regards legality well the car won't be as it was when the manurfacturer made it so its up to you as to if you tell insurnace I told them when mine was stripped but that had nothing in the back litrally.
Sell at least one kidney.
I'd recon £12k was spent on the engine thats before the sequenchial box I'd hate to think how much thats work list pirce for a new one is probably £8k.
The other bits maybe £5k.
I bet it cost mike more than that to do the engien though with the history he had.
