Impressive project I'm sure its been on here before.
You need the injectors increasing for more power now I'd guess you should make some serious power if you can get the pump and injectors sorted. No idea what boost its running I though it was 1.4 bar and assuming all th bits work you should be...
Somethings not right there the dash should have been chnaged as Andy will know and that fixes the dash if the speedo out since its signal is from the ABS system then something realy amiss.
No temperature gage working humm I'd be wary why's that?
I don't rate any of them personaly I hate them on my 15's they seemed on on the 182 I drove with them on 16's though but I didn't push as hard and many other love them.
I've got 2 for sale T1R I think (or will do when I have the tyres taken off)
Matt Black seel the 172 kits for £1.5k+ Vat its not that difficult to fit but when you add new cluctch cambelt parts alone are about £2k (might as well change the bits when there out and easy).
Its not that difficult to fit basically undo the subframe suspension engien mountd ratorr and remove...
The poor idle is down to the fuel mapping. The only reason its mapped like it is for cold running is because of emissions rules.
They cna idle perfectly my old WIlliams was tunned on cams etc and idled perfectly lower than the 172 do.
1.8T conversion i think Matt said cost him £6k for the bits etc including stand alone ECU etc.
The 225 turbo isn't a bolt on to the 172 ints a new block all bits are stronger but its the same engine code.
The 225 turbo engine has the problem of needing the big gearbox which fowls Fred started...
Doesn't matter I thing I always try putting the smooth side up to the sump but so long as its tight it won't matter.
You need to replace the washer and clean the area round the sump plug ever time you take it off otherwise it leaks.
Nope they sick up a bit anyway as they should. The 172's had the issue that they didn't and they touch at the back hence the strut mod often talked about ground away a bit of material so they didn't catch.
The Renault ones are 38.5 I think but the normal ones you can buy from aftermarket places are a slightly different offset.
Stud patern is 4*100PCD though.
You don't need bigger disks better pads are all thats required or different calipers.
I'm not sure what your after though regards what the disk are originally off? The 285mm disk Ktec use are off a R19 or 21 apparently but I've never looked.
The 172.182 280mm disk will fit wif you get...
Yep totally agree 172 engines arn't good £ for hp gains.
I agree that somoen who doen't know what there doing will make a mess the problem is there to many of them running round fitting them even ones with supposed good reputations.
Driveshafts are powerful its amazing how much they'll...
Replace it with start stuff the stanrd stuff is superb Depends what its like. Replace ball joint top mounts etc isn't difficult and depnding how bad it is makes a big difference.
I'd say if when you've driven it on a back road you don't know what people rave about it it might need a few new...
The engine come out of the Clio now I think and going into a VAG car.
I'm sure Matt's car can be made road legal again but in the aims to cut weight he cut out it all. It was legal though when it had the TT engine in.
Also he doesn't run street tyes as its not road used so there no point...
Its usually activatd when you put the throttle to the floor and ahve the system switched on and the controllers inject the extra fuel and NOS progressivly.
Its a relitivly safe power mod but to do it right you need to often uprate the fuel pump and have it set up correctly plus its expensive if...
I've used CCI and CIG in the past but when you thing of the excess etc its an expensive adition to a track day. I don't bother any more but then again my cars not worth much.
Depends hwo much you want to spend.
Leda coilovers/H and R etc are good but pricy.
Engine wise most stuff costs a lot best value ones on a 172 are a decat a remap manifold modification and air filter. Then some decient pads
Common Clio problems...
Its a good circuit beford if a little dull. Still its a good long track so a good mixture of bends.
Did you get brake fade? Its the only circuit even to have faded my old brakes.
