    PC vs Consoles Official Thread

LOL, I know, I know. At least it gives them all somewhere to hangout while comparing their respective awesomeness and laughing pitifully at normal non-Mac owning imbeciles.
  2. Tighten My Nuts

    PC vs Consoles Official Thread

That's a good point. I thought Macs rinsed just about everything else at everything...don't they?

    got bored!

LOL at asking for opinions...then people getting upset when someone gives them exactly that...an opinion! You'll get used to Ali, he's an acquired taste...

"Wow, My Willy Works" Dave.'s TDF'd ITB & Cammed 182

Re: Dave.'s Trumpeted Engine Spec, Cammed Up Gunit, 2118'd Carbon obsession This thread has now achieved 'legendary' status. Doing the same job, I'd probably do exactly the same myself though.

    police and clios

I've had Police attention twice in all the time I've had my Clio. 1st time I got the matrix board in the rear window of an unmarked estate flash up 'SLOW DOWN' as I was making progress along a DC behind him...so I promptly backed off. Second time was blue lights after I gave it almost full...

    Jon's Trackday PH1 172 project thread

Re: Jon's MK1 172 project thread Nice one Mr R. Once this is running a session on track is needed

    Maybe u were right...

LOL Ignis's are for drivers that don't give a flying f*** what other people think.

This Dephaser mass failure that seams to be happening.

Mine made it to 7 years and 125k miles before it started to make noises. Oil has been changed every 6k miles from new without fail. It's very extremely worth it.
  9. Tighten My Nuts

    Used tyres? Seriously?

In 125k miles from new, my Cup has worn brand spanking off the shelf new tyres only twice. Those it was fitted with at the factory, and it's first set of replacements. Since then, all of the road and track tyres I've used/tried have been second hand, and 95% have been bought from members on...

Can you get an analogue keyboard for a PC? Does such a thing exist?

thoughts on PAS - would you loose it for a track car?

It's not that bad...I'm a runt of a bloke and I can cope! As others have said though, if it were for a race I'd probably think again, but for road driving, or a 15 min session on track it is manageable.

Oil indicator and SERV lighting intermittently

Not really...mine's now done 125k miles and between oil changes (I do mine every 6k) it doesn't consume any, despite it living a fair chunk of its life on track. Best you just keep an eye on it.
  13. Tighten My Nuts

Oil indicator and SERV lighting intermittently

If oil is on the minimum level it needs more. Top it up and see if that cures it. Remember, the oil light means low oil pressure, not low oil level, so everytime you see it, cross your fingers.

What about movement using a keyboard? Are you just running or stationary? How do you get the analog effect of just nudging a joystick very slightly forwards to crawl/walk silently instead of running?

thoughts on PAS - would you loose it for a track car?

There's far more than just a few bhp on offer from removing the power steering...here's mine, before and after power curve... As said above, is quite a challenge when parking. Had to run my Cup as a daily for two weeks recently, harness and bucket seat were more of a pain in the a*se than...

My 172 Cup, first time owner

Cambelts are good for 5yrs or 72k. As your was done at 24k no need to do it for another 20k. Save the money and treat it to a trackday. It'll thank you for it and you won't stop smiling.

    Fletch's 150k 172 Project..

I'm glad you're experiencing all this pain with the seats :rasp: It'll make it so much easier when I come to sort a second seat out if I can tap into some friendly CS 1st hand knowledge.

Anyone ever regretted a modification ?

I love every single one of mine...each one has made it a little more raw. Not the easiest thing to drive now, but each time out is an event that causes lots of smiles.

FAO Fred/Danny etc, I think its broken...

Surely you're better off hiring a car in the meantime - will be far less cost than repairing the potential damage you're going to cause? No idea what it is myself...good luck!
  26. Tighten My Nuts

    rev limiter problem...

It limits because you are revving it hard when the engine is cold. The limiter is set lower until the oil reaches its ideal operating temperature. Don't confuse oil temperature with the guage shown on your dash - that shows water temperature. The oil often takes longer to get warmed through...

I'd say you've got it bang on already...just the right balance of looks vs usability.

    Brakes seem a bit weak

Ooh, best get it sorted ASAP then! No idea on technique, never done it myself. Have a search on here and you should find something.
  29. Tighten My Nuts

    Brakes seem a bit weak

Fluid...change it and give it a fresh bleed. Regardless of what pads/discs you are running, there is no way you should be able to push the pedal to the floor. In other words none of the pressure from your leg into the pedal is actually reaching the pads/discs as the poor fluid is stopping it...
