Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
That's not mentioning heel and toe changes either. You downchange with varying pressure on the brake pedal, and with lines, a good fluid and a fresh bleed, no matter how hard you press you stay lined up for a quick blip.
Nothing at all to do with driving slowly, it's about planning ahead, and not going straight from throttle to brake.
I have seen almost 50mpg before...now that was slow!
Fuel costs isn't a problem...40 mpg is easily achieveable if you're smooth.
Reliability generally isn't a problem unless you're ham-fisted and abuse it...mine's turned over 100k miles now with no major failures and only recently has it needed a new clutch.
That's the one. Rest assured, the guys on the gate tend to know their s**t.
Great pics. I was go-karting myself...shame.
I'm going to get along to the ricer one though..
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Definitely.
You know what your brakes are doing with consistant pedal feel and position, so you can get more out of them.
Should be first mod to the brakes IMO.
Nah, not going to do any detail like that...although I am thinking maybe the door mirrors.
I've got to paint over the brake dust on the my yellow rims for FCS anyway...so all wheels road and track will become yellow I think...may as well go the whole way.
That's why I said 'a standard 172 Cup', not my 172 Cup ;)
Interesting view/experience though...just goes totally against everything I've seen/heard/learnt/experienced over the years. When my 172 Cup was standard, I never had a V6 get away from me on a straight...and that's taking exit speed...
Google roll cage.
Call you're local/nearest company and say you want a harness bar.
Go along, they fit, you pay.
I looked at this recently and came out anywhere from £50-£200 depending on professionalism/crookedness.
Ha ha ha...not lonely life...just trying out different filming/editing techniques.
Glad you all like it!
It looks stunning with the yellow wheels to complement it...even if I do say so myself.
You can all abuse it/point and laugh at FCS anyway.
That's a bold statement!
Nice video :approve:
Just think, if you heel and toed you'd be better balanced and might be able to keep up with me in a totally standard 172 Cup then :rasp:
I'd suggest the reason you've never known one that could keep up is down to the driver? You're obviously...
Yep...you've been had by clueless idiots.
The Cup does not have a compensator as the rear brake bias is set at a pre-determined very low level at the factory.
Most fail the MOT as the rear brakes are 'not working'. Problem is they are working, just as Renault intended at a very low level (so...
