Standard disk ie no fancy stupid drilled stuff as they only crack and are less effective than normal ones. As for pads depends hwo you drive the Halfords £17 ones (ie the more expensive of the two they sell) are very good value for money but if you realy drive on track get some DS2500's. Just...
Why do you want 172 coilovers? Might as well chnage the whole engine and gearbox whilst your at it.
1.2 etc coilovers are jsut the same realy no need to go for 172 setup plus 172 setups are different as the front end is much heavier.
The 172 disks still arn't the best ever using the stock 1.2...
Its not all about Hp and 0-60.
Anyway there not that much different a very good 172/Cup/182/Williams will, run 14.0.
The game has only moved on as far as people demands, doesn't mean its not a better or worse car just different.
The GSi/VXR I don't see as any competition the new Clio RS will be out by then which will be better still. Plus the Corsa isn't the best handling car ever and its never affected sales so why should they care now.
I can well understand there reponse they need to TUV appropve bits ktec don't and since the 182's already out of production and no one knows the exact spacing for the new dampers on the new RS why should they certify parts for a car with a known market?
The cost of certifying bits is massive.
You wopn't get a new engine you'd go to J3ned and get him to drop a brand new crate engine for about £1.5k. A brand new Renault engine without injectors is £3.5k.
Otherwise just get a 172 transplant done for £1.5k in parts and about £1k labour.
I'd get the extended warently though injecotors...
Yep there more potentila depends how extrem about 215hp is about as far as they'd go I think before they go to either a 2.2 blcok or a whole new engine. otherwise they'll need stonger bottom end which is more expensive and a whole new engine is better value.
Nope don't go sticking auto fluid in an power stearing the fluid is much thinner (I think its this way round) so it will leak and so make more leak paths out of your system.
Try getting friendly with the person on the door they can offer you the parts at cheap prices.
Traders get parts at between 5 and 30% or so off so you could try claiming to be a trader but a true trader needs to put a load of business through them (£15k+ a year I think through our local dealership)
I've heard of two cars (both abroad) which failed like this but its a rare one.
Make sure you bed the new engine in hard (ie when its warn when you pick it up hammer it to 4.5k a few times) change the oil at 3k then once between ever service (ie even 9k or 1 yr) for the best.
Don't stick 5.1 in the system use Dot 4. 5.1 needs chnaging ever month or so otherwise it goes hydroscopic ie becomes unless and rusts the brakes setup.
I take it its a 16V shell originally?
This brake pressure problem eveyone is on about is only an issue with the 182's (in general)
The fault if it is a serious one it logs it on the ECU and usually throws the stop light if its serious to clear it it needs to go to a Renault or an appropriatly equipt garage. Your hasn't so its...
Your has the rounded not triagular lights I take it? Even if not some cars just down't have it its just down to car spec.
Try pressing the trip reset button down instead when you turn the key.
I take it its a decat etc as well? If so you plugged the second CAT (lambeda) sensor in after the CAT?
If so then this is the problem the sensor has noticed the cat isn't working you need to unplug the sensor and either remove it and block the hole up or leave the sensor in the place and just...
Its very uslesful as you said most things are the same.
Any engine issues etc can usually be sorted on the forum or are the same as the smaller engines anyway.
You might not be allowed a courtesy car its usually 21 but ask your insurance tell them its warently work and they'll usually cover you for free that what I used to do.
Could be your lambeda sensor or any multitude of things.
