is there anywhere you can get these cheaper than pull your pants down renault?

Possibly but I'd stick with Renault stuff.
they shouldn't fail that often if so then there another problem.

Try getting friendly with the person on the door they can offer you the parts at cheap prices.
Traders get parts at between 5 and 30% or so off so you could try claiming to be a trader but a true trader needs to put a load of business through them (£15k+ a year I think through our local dealership)

if its the 1.6 16v K4M engine i have them new for £25 + vat each ( £44 + vat each from dealer ) there are 2 types - denso & sagem.

GSF. german swedish french car parts. do the reno ones for about £40. and a make called burou, not sure on the spelling, aparently they make parts from bmw and mercedes. They are £30 ish, i have 2of them and they are outlasting the renault ones.

also u need to make sure the renault ones have gray tops and not black. all assuming they are the same pencil type i have on my car.!
