Well I can say for certain that when my decat was fitted I noticed the difference in how it felt and revved.
I was just about to post up my before and after dyno pics to show how the torque and power curve had changed...
But no matter how I interpret these graphs, there's no noticeable...
Not enjoying it at the moment though - off to pick up another relay from Rentech-Mike this afternoon...see if I can get it to work and drive it for the first time in 4 weeks this weekend.
Either that or I'll get the AA to dump it outside Mike's workshop.
Same for me as well - although I did also tell them the reason it was on there was because the standard Renault one cost 3x as much and didn't have a lifetime warranty.
I also fitted an ITG panel filter and that made no difference either - told them it was to save money at service time.
Agree - Fred's is good.
As above don't touch the backs - they do so little my rear pads lasted 93,000 miles.
And unless you are a track junkie Brembo High Carbon discs are good enough.
Don't think it was the sun that caused it - it didn't happen in a short period of time - has always been not right and has got progressively worse over time.
I drive always with my hands at 'quarter-to-three' and the wheel has worn on both sides exactly the same, exactly where my hands go...
Would only really be a problem in the wet though wouldn't it? And who drives on the limit of grip in the wet?
I know it seems the norm is to have the best tyres on the back, but the front tyres do the steering, braking, and carry 65%+ of the weight of the car - which is why I always have best...
It's something like that.
I'm not technical, Mike at Rentech does all that for me.
What I do know is that the grumbling noise I get from my brakes after 40-45k miles is cured by fitting a new or low mileage replacement set of calipers.
It's not a problem as such...more of an irritant that costs £100 to put right!
The brakes still work, and stop, they just sound like they're about to self destruct when while they do it.
Exchange calipers were the solution for me.
Something like £45 a side from Renault - although I've always managed to find myself a low mileage set from someone on here who's upgrading.
Has your car had a hard life/lots of track use?
What's the mileage?
I wear out the mounting bushes on front calipers every 40-45,000 miles - which allows the smallest amount of movement of the caplier when everything's hot, giving a rumbling noise which sounds like what you're getting?
Never been to any tracks oop North yet; almost did Oulton in Feb, 'til it got snowed off.
Can't wait for the 'ring though. I think I'm ready for it now.
Wouldn't want it on an OPL day, but when sessioned, if you put yourself forward for the advanced group I think you should expect people to drive like that - see an opportunity to make progress and take it.
We all have mirrors so should know all the time where everyone is, and so long as...
LMFAO at that.
I've never been out there yet...but it looked like he was early apexing almost every corner, so had to tighten up his line at exit giving him power understeer with his crappy cheap tyres.
That's not on limit driving either, it's just plain s*** driving - anyone can make a car...
It's a guess Tom.
From fully fitted, to this...got to be 46kgs taken from there - the lower seatbelt mountings and speakers alone are almost 5kgs. Then there's the parcel shelf, seats, all the trim, the screws...
A standard FF 172 would need 203bhp to get to the bhp/ton ratio my Cup (975 kg + 179 bhp) has :approve:
Weight is the enemy of everything...not just straight-line speed, but fuel economy, tyre and brake wear, handling etc...best thing you can do is remove weight.
Grill's better, bonnet's better.
Spoiler wouldn't look too bad if it at least matched the profile of the roof toward the edge. Or is it the pictures that make it look like it doesn't match/line up??
