you have to buy it from Renault.
it comes with 2 aerosols: paint and laquer.
all you need is the primer.
Part code for 647 aerosol kit: X R77 11 172 132, £11.86 (£13.94)
no copying now ;)
I did 2 coats of primer, then sprayed them in 647... then got a small pot of black acrylic and painted the lettering by hand. Took me a good hour to go round all the edges neatly.
Then i put 3 coats of laquer over the whole thing. Im chuffed to bits with the result! :)
Right, i need to remove the external door handles... which means removing the whole door card from my 172.
how do i do it?
I've unscrewed all the screws i can see (including the one on the handle) etc.. and pulled the putty away around the bottom but the top of the panel wont budge!
how do...
cool thanks... will save me starting it again if its fucked in the morning.
Its getting damp out there so my bets is that i'll need to do something to it. Only had about 2 hours to harden :o
yeah they'll be sat in the warm for a couple of days first.
only fitted the boot lock in a hurry for security reasons... if it needs re-doing in the morning then so be it :)
and yes... more DIY articles, watch THIS space :)
its all worked well and the colour match is spot on.
i ordered the paint in from Renault to be certain :)
all ive fitted so far is the boot lock cos i didnt want to leave the tape on all night... and its too dark to fit the other bits now.
im most impressed with my badges now they're...
There's 1 screw holding the grab panel on into the boot... and about 6 plastic pop rivets.
pop off the cover and then there's 2 screws holding the lock to the boot :)
i'll go and take some progress pics... waiting for the 2nd coat of laquer to dry now :)
haha, mitch i'll explain.
during the night bart simpson broke into my car, removed the boot lock, door handles and 2.0 badges and is currently out in the shed spraying them ;)
