A decent roll cage does stiffen up the car a lot. I could feel the difference after having my cage welded in. I think your deffently going donw the best route. ITB's are great but if you think about what you can buy for all that money then it does seem you get more things.
Your car does look...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Good to hear that the removal of the ac gives a noticeable difference. Hopefully I'll feel the difference with the removal of 40kg and ac & pas :)
Custom 300mm trumpet are now on order ;)
I meant to buy 2 resistors the other day but forgot! I'll have to finish the loom this week, fingers crossed it's spot on
Not a great deal to update but I now have my dished backing plate from Reverie. It didn't take as long as they said it would take which was nice.
Also finished my brakes and bleed up the system. I couldn't believe that the whole system only holds just over 1/2 a ltr of brake fluid...
I have also used drills, hole saw's and angle grinders on carbon fibre and they all cut well and leave a clean cut. As long as you measure twice and cut once then you'll be fine.
Ditching the blowers would make the car's inside look much neater. Look into Motorsport blowers/demisters. I'm sure...
I got there in the end. I had to pump the peddle about 500 times but eventually got enough pressure. And I found that after a while the last 1/3 of peddle travel was really hard and we used that little bit to blead it. So after 8 months my car now has brakes :)
Right i'm having difficulties getting pressure in the peddle now i have make all the lines!
Everything is all tight and the lines all have good flares so i dont think its an issue with the lines!
Can anyone think of what i am doing wrong?
Re: "Mechanically Inept" Dave.'s TDF'd ITB & Cammed 182
Congratulations mate. 9 months of brawwwwping around then it's breaking time.
I'll have some bits off your car if you end up breaking it so just met me know as I can pick them up :)
Just for reference my fibre glass/ carbon Fibre bonnet weighs 7kg.
My bonnet is a firbre glass shell and a carbon firbre skin. RRP is about £400 and the purly carbon firbre ones are over £1000
You know your new fancy alloy bit that goes on top of the engine. was the underside of it just flat or did it have lots of bits milled into it?
Also what did you use to seal it when you put it on?
