Dulux gloss! Wasn't even a fancy brush just somthing cheap

    Kit's Ph1 172

It's just gloss paint applied with a brush, nothing special really! I am very pleased with it tbh.

    Kit's Ph1 172

All painting done! Few bits need a second coat, plus I need to do some parts black, like the piece surrounding the hand brake and the seat rails. I know it isn't a professional job as there are some rough edges, not all the tar stuff came off the roof. But the overall effect is good. Cables...

    Kit's Ph1 172

Managed to paint the roof and back quarter panels this afternoon, quite a lot done! Just need to do the floors, hopefully have enough time tomorrow as I need to take the wheels off and WD40 the brake lines to help free them up for the braided ones I'm fitting next week. Also need to mark up my...

Removing the residue from the sound deadening has to be the worst job on a car I have done in years. Never doing it again. On the plus side it's nearly done and just stopping for lunch before I vacuum and wash the insides before I start to paint.

What have you done to your car today ???

Still removing tar residue :pensive: Although it's nearly time to vacuum and wash the insides before painting!! Hopefully this afternoon it will be started. Never removing sound deadening again.

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

That picture has convinced me to do mine!! Another job for the winter then. The amount of times the front bumper is off I may have to fit a quick release for it!!

    Carbon canister

Shove it in the hole....that's what she said. Lol It is as simple as that. The one I did on my steering wheel for the air bag I put a bit of heat shrink around the connection and resistor to keep it tidy and secure

    Carbon canister

If these is a sensor/component this would have resistance so you are effectively shorting it out if you solder the wires together. Could either cause an error or catch fire. The resistor mocks the load of the component you are removing.

Those lights look bitchin' I may have to do this to mine. Presume use sealant to put the covers back on for weather protection?

    track car interiors :)

I'm currently doing my interior, not much to post other than nothing inside it! But what I am going to do it: * Paint it dark grey, little like pirmer grey but gloss * Flocked dash, A-pillars and bits behind the mirrors, because race car! Might get the lower dash done if it annoys me being...

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

Is the battery all the way back? Slotted straight in on my Ph1 with no issues....apart from putting a massive gash in my hand as I dragged it over a jubilee clip bit that acted like a knife blade.

    Water Inside Driver's Sill

Will give this a go next weekend. If there isn't a hole near the jacking point then there will be one by the end of the weekend! lol

    Water Inside Driver's Sill

The centre drain tube under the wiper scuttle is that? And Under seal as in that thick paint like stuff you put on chassis and that? And where does it block up? Ok, I will do this. I just hope the water in the sills havent caused damage. I am hoping that now the car is covered it is less...

    Water Inside Driver's Sill

Found the source of the sloshing noise after heavy rain. The drivers sill was full of water. This is how much I removed Where is is getting in? And is there a drain point for it as I think it could be blocked. This isn't linked to the blocked wiper scuttle drain issue I had a while back...

Some actual progress!! First thing was to fit the new LED side light bulbs, thanks to my brother for these! I like them. Also fitted them in the interior lights too. Then I set about stripping the car even more. Like so: All the stuff on the drive Then I set about removing the tar sound...

Wiring next to passenger's door, what is it?

This: Not sure what this connects too, seems to go all around the car. Is it the rear lights and that? Just want to know so I can keep it in.

    LED interior light constant on?

I should have known this really! But I think I switched off in that lecture at uni as I hated electronics!! Still do. Thanks for the advice!!!

    LED interior light constant on?

Damn. I quite like them but if they are drawing power I may have to put the originals back in, unless there is a way of changing them so they don't? As the car is sat stationary and off the road currently I don't want the battery being drained
  21. KitsonRis

    LED interior light constant on?

Put an LED bulb in the two interior lights (big one and map reading one) and the main one looks like it is constantly on. It is like a dull blue glow, but then you turn the light on there is a difference and it properly lights up Is this true? As a low resistance bulb still drawing power, or am...

    Orange wheels.......

Orange wheels ftw One of the best things I did to my car. Although they need redoing but I'll get them powder coated when I get around to it.

    Kit's Ph1 172

That is true, I can leave the car in a state at the end of the day. The new one is doing me well thanks!!! I initially thought satin, but a few people have talked me around to a gloss finish, although realistically I have another week before I am ready to paint, this weekend is prep work.

    Kit's Ph1 172

Have not solved the leaky car problem :rage: first time I've seen the car in a month and the drivers foot we'll had some water in, not as bad as I was expecting so my clearing out of the wiper scuttle drain points sort of worked! Might need to do it again. I've just started it up, seems to be...

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

My list of pet hates could span a while.... But the worst is kids who think stupid camber and stretched tyres are good and don't affect the handling. But each to their own really, just don't try and make me change my car!

Aero Tweeks - Front Canards and Drilled Rear Bumper

I'm expecting an extra 5.415bhp that will improve lap times by 3.814% 😂😂 Yes I know they will be doing nothing apart from looking cool. But I just didn't want to have them looking wrong and some square come up to me and say they are at the wrong angle to get maximum...

Fitting my braided hoses + what fluid to use

Is that the RBF600 Dot 4? Found some on line and just wanted to make sure. And the guides say 1l is needed for a full change and bleed

Aero Tweeks - Front Canards and Drilled Rear Bumper

They are more for show really, but I sort of want them to look like they will do something! Yes, I saw the one CM Composites make, it linked me when I was watching the canards on eBay, but it is a little too much really. I am not going to be chasing times, so it may be a waste of money. I could...
