Just been out washing the car and you're right, it is quite noticeable to the eye. To be honest i've never really looked before but the car has always felt a little 'odd' handling wise. Kind of squirmy in the rear under breaking, but i put it down to the budget tyres.
What is the best way to...
Well I just got back after my aligment and it's good and bad news.
All went smoothly and I got -2 front camber and -12 total toe out, but both were new parts so easy enough.
The rear however is a bit of a problem, it apears to be our pretty badly? I'm still getting a slight pulling left...
Nice update Mark. Just be careful with the paint on the rubbers as it can often lead to them splitting. Will be great with the PMS top mounts fitted. Cure your OCD ;)
Thanks Steve. The cars come a fair way from the beginning, but I just do things as and when!
I have a ktec cup splitter on the way which I'm excited to fit. I've also just put an order in for lots of detailing products as it hasn't been washed in nearly a month :nomouth:
Cheers Mark.
Spoke to KTEC and SKF and they recommended packing them properly, so that's what I did :) I might remove a little yet.
Engine bay wise, I'm wanting to totally refresh my inlets/fuel guard etc, but that's for the future.
Not updated this for a while but I have been pretty busy.
Started off with some new genuine tie rods and lemforder TRE's as I had a fair bit of movement in them. Thanks @leeds2592 for lending me the tie rod tool which made the job a thousand times easier!

Going to Bram tomorrow for my alignment doing and i'm getting mixed messages about what sort of settings?
I was thinking 2 degrees camber, with 15 mins out total?
I've heard 15 mins either side toe, and from others 10 total. I just want to make sure it's all setup right.
It's just for fast...
Going for tracking tomorrow and having just got new tyres on my 2118s I'm wanting to run these. However it's not the best time coming into winter! I was just wondering how many people do run winter wheels?
I was just going to keep on top of cleaning my alloys and making sure they're sealed...
On the fitting instructions it says to pack both faces with grease, moly do? Or shall i put something better in there?
The bearings are SKF, and self lubricating but if being packed with grease will prolong their life, then so be it. I'll be using a ptfe washer to stop most contamination, but...
According to KTEC the bearings are SKF GEH20C, with a custom PTFE shim and m20 circlip. It's fairly difficult to find SKF bearings cheaper than ktec supply.
Found these -...
I think to a certain extent the black alloys would put a few people off. I focus on them straight away, and it just shouts young owner spray painting his alloys (if you didn't know the story behind the car). It's one of those, but you're not in a rush so i wouldn't worry.
Look so clean with the TPI bolts, hopefully they dont rust like some people see! I know you've coated them though, so fingers crossed :)
The cars immaculate as always too!
