Currently on new cup shocks and Cooksport springs, its nice on the road but on track I'd like a little more from it without going to coilovers.
Are the Koni shocks a decent improvement over Cup shocks? They have damping adjustment which would be useful for track.
F***ing Dutch!
How much is max combined then for each?
Tbh I want 3 degrees of camber bang on so I need an extra 1.1 degrees or thereabouts. If that'll give me an extra degree of caster I'll be happy enough.
Just have a play around and see I guess.
Depends on the torque spread. I've seen the graph of an engine on Catcams 423 for example and it doesn't really start doing anything until about 6k rpm. Guess its like driving a Honda.
Ktec charge £150 for something that costs about £10 and a bit of welding. Look out for one second hand, they usually go for about £50. I got the sports cat version for £150 so I don't need to mess around come MOT time.
I've searched a couple of threads that say all 3 bolts to the front of the car for max caster.
But what is the setting for max caster and camber? And are they infinitely adjustable up to 1.4 degrees?
The benefit is a larger pad area on the Brembos (around 20x10 bigger)
Also with the Brembos being monobloc they are more rigid.
So if I can run 288x26mm with the Brembos I'm not sure I'd see a benefit going 295x24mm with the Wilwoods.
You either have to sacrifice pad area or pay for top of the range calipers, some of which don't have dust seals so need looking after.
I fancy the Brembos as they have a decent pad area and piston size, fairly rigid but more importantly they're a bit more fit and forget.
Well done mate!
A good mate of mine does stuff like this down in London. I know what he's been through and its tough to make it so well done!
A guy in work does glamour stuff too but lower budget than Playboy, he knobs them when he can though :quiet:
The offset is the same but because you are making the 4mm up with the pads the calliper has to move to get it central to the disc. Hence a 28mm disc will give you 2mm more clearance.
I understand what you're saying and if the right callipers come up at the right price then I might get something...
The discs move in as they get thicker. So the standard ones have a height of 44 and thickness of 24, meaning the centre is 32. Whereas a 28mm thick disc would be 48 height and 34 centre. Giving an extra 2mm clearance.
Hmm I wonder if titanium would be up to the job or cold expanded and shot...
The standard discs for the Bremos are 312x28mm.
If I go for 288 it'll give another 2.5mm on the thickness on the bracket. Will that help at all? Given the tight tolerances I'm guessing you used steel?
How do you find the Brembos with 24mm discs as they come on cars with 28mm thickness? I've read elsewhere to use 26mm minimum.
I'm getting a set of bells from Noos in a couple of weeks, one of the last remaining. Not sure what rotors to go for next, it depends what I can fit (283x24, 283x26 or...
I'm sure I've seen a thread on here with Clio/Meg 4 pot Brembos fitted with 283mm brake bells and rotors under 15s.
I can't find the thread though despite numerous searches. Anyone know of this? I'm pretty sure Noos made the bracket kits.
DS2500 seemed ok on my last trackday but nothing brilliant. Haven't had an issue with them previously but I've always ran grooved discs, now on normal Brembo HC discs they don't seem as good. Maybe DS2500 like grooved discs??
I find yellowstuff really wooden, don't like the pedal feel with them...
They'd have gone down like skittles if I'd be driving with my family in the car, they're lucky the guy in the RR seemed so considerate considering what was going on.
Ph1 ftw. The only thing I'd change is the spoiler.
I haven't got a stealth exhaust though, they don't sound as good (reverberates behind the bumper and into the cabin imho)
