stick a SSD and 8GB of ram in it and it will fly - while probably out living you!
im using a 7yr old Thinkpad T61...
goes alright, hardly a scientific form of timing but im counting that about 4 seconds off the 0-100mph time of a 172 and 2 seconds faster than a Twingo 133!!
you could get in touch with an online trader such as http://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/ but id imagine postage will cost you a bomb so your best bet is your local dealer :)
windscreen seal ive only had one of my 172s that's done it it was at 118mph exactly, no matter what the weather lol! but I had to get to the bottom of it asap drove me nuts on the way to work every morning, I feel your pain
always during cornering doesn't even have to be fast cornering. that was brand new cup dampers and brand new eibach springs, however ive had the same issue on a standard spring and damper car although not brand new parts
I was "cup" wishbones and eibach sportlines and had bother with rubbing until I realised I hadn't fitted the bumpstops to the new dampers! doh!! once they were fitted there was no rubbing at all
Was down at RS Tuning yesterday, stuck it on the rollers and straight away it pulled a 107bhp 115lb/ft run and horribly enough as soon as the overboost came on at 4500rpm the injectors ran at 100% duty until the limiter!
so 172 injectors went in, paul worked his magic on it and managed to get...
I like the idea of lease/PCP I just 1. get bored too easily and 2. I can commute 5 miles a day and then suddenly my work decides im going 100 miles a day so millage limits are a no go!
im watching the prices of 2nd hand Twingos closely to see if we can justify swapping the Mrs 1.2 twingo for a...
not an area ive had any experiance with, YET! but I assume this wouldn't be a problem with a standard clutch that has been re manufactured with uprated material still using the standard clutch cover etc mick?
my dci65 had loads of air, never caused it any issues lol my low millage dci100 had a lot less but still had bubbles and as far as I know that had never had any work done previously to the fuel system it was still the way it left the factory
I hear everyone talking about this and praising it, what is it and at what stage do you use it? is this instead of using a clay bar or is this stage still used?
I like a clean car but am not into it in a big way so am curious!
if your running 130bhp with id guess 140-150lbft its not the previous owner its just the clutch cant handle it!
theres nothing off the shelf so you need to have something custom made up, or the above idea is interesting not sure if its confirmed to be possible or just an idea?
stay away from...
Black gold 182, clean straight car, good condition inside, cup spoiler pack no cup suspension, average miles say 80k (not sure what the car in q has done)
rattling dephaser so will need belts the lot
ive never owned a 197 but ive owned a 200 and ph1 (along with a few ph2's) and imo there is no contest between the mk3s and mk2s - mk3 wins in every area other than running costs.
I love mk2s but only reason id have one over a mk3 would be if I couldn't afford a mk3!
also I had a 65 and a 100 and never saw any considerable difference in mpg between the 2, both were awesome, 100 maby 2-5mpg less when driven hard but when just dodging about town they were both the same!
