    He thought they were good at the time. Only when he had someone who knows how to map a car using a wideband sensor and det cans he found out that he had a map that the AFR's that resembled a mountain range.

    Wide band it before making any adjustments. But yes you add fuel in the fuel map.

    Have you adjusted the cam timing atall? If not you should be fine to do a start and low engine speed without the issue of det, it can't be *that* different to the last engine to cause det.

    If the steering wheel wasn't straight and you were going in a straight line, it's not fine.

    You'll need to brace that as it will be seeing torsional force from the belt. It'll break the mount. I'll measure my pulley tomorrow.

    They can be helicoiled, but it's not always permenant. A timesert is however.

    Do not use helicoiling. Timeserts are much better. Screwing the plug back in should be ok. Emma.'s cup did this and I fitted a new set of plugs and it was fine

    I've had a 182 in that was down to 150bhp because the timing was out, I corrected it and it did 185.

    I have a few customers from over South Wales, a few of them have all been to one garage to have belts done and each and every one was out.

    Ph1 172 exhaust advice

    Ph1's upto Y reg in my experience had 1 sensor, any Y plate ones had 2 sensors. Look under the car, if you can see a lambda just under the gear stick you have 2 sensors. A ph2 decat fits to bring it up to 2 sensors.

    That's what the previous owner said about the one I bought. 7 valves, 5 guides, 4 injectors, head gasket set later. It's running again. Water pump seized 10k after the belt changed and snapped the cambelt.

    does it have 172 wishbones? if so you can only use a 172 shaft.

    Really? I have, infact my DCI I bought had done that exact thing. Didn't over heat, stripped the belt and bent 7 valves and 5 guides. Engine would've been fine if it hadn't seized and snapped the belt.

    Until the water pump siezes and it snaps the cambelt.

    yeh that's a balance hole. most common f**k up on the timing of these. brings them down to about 150bhp.

    Cams locked in place have a look through the timing mark hole on the box and the. Rotate the crank to suit. There is a line that makes where it lines up at TDC. 14mm for the dephaser cap.
