Timing these cars is entirely different to a normal car. Maybe you can only afford the pulley, but you'll be looking at over £1100 in parts when you've fucked it up and it obliterates the valves.
Erm, you don't need to remove the engine atall. But I'm worried that you don't have the correct tools or know the correct procedure if your having to ask this.

Here's some maths though.
You had a 1.4RT I guess, power to weight ratio of 85bhp/tonne
Say you get 160bhp from that engine, and 1.9Tonnes. That's a power to weight ratio of 84bhp/tonne. Lol.
