Drove to Southampton today to go and collect it. Need to get some traction fluid and inlets and then we are complete. I'm not paying £109 a litre for it either! I have a list of alternatives to try and trace yet.
Re: URGENT - Lost ALL elec' power - no ignition lights/anything- short during oil ser
How long did it short out for?!? Check the fuses in the relay box.
I'm running a suspension refresh offer that consists if every bush and ball joint, and front and rear shocks for £895.
Unless there is a receipt for the cambelt, I'd sooner change it knowing its been done that way.
Servicing isn't too bad, I charge £160 for a 12month/12k service...
Budget £600 for a cambelt with dephaser. Don't buy the first example, go and have a drive if 4/5 from different places if you can, this will give an idea of a good or bad one.
It's a silicone gasket. You can take each bolt out one at at time and put a bead of silicone around them. But ideally it needs to come off and be resealed when the belts are being done.
It's a real pain to try and refit, you may need to use something to lever it at the back, blunt side of a pry bar etc. I remember doing this a fair few years ago.
