A few bits an pieces needed, I've seen it's got evidence of an AC leak by the compressor, I haven't had chance to CLiP it yet to see if we have any refrigerant pressure, I shall do today.

Yes. The 3rd gear shaft doesn't get much oil if you run the STD 2 or so litres, as it relies on being splash fed from the diff. Overfill it by 1.0 litre and it prolongs it no end. Makes it feel so much better too.
I wouldn't ever advise having the belt done incorrectly. Especially at that price I doubt he's replacing the aux belt tensioner. That fails, takes the cambelt with it.
