bodykit is a big mistake, will ruin the look of the car, totally devalue it too.
keep it simple, lower it 60mm at least.
looks no bad, no to keen on the wheels but they might look better when lowered
we had a 1.2 16v that had the squeeky fan too its so annoying but i never got round to sorting it, i assumed it was just a squeeky fan? it done it from when it was brand new
of course you can, you'll still get a gain because the cat is the most restrictive part on most exhausts, but you would get a better gain changing the full system too.
driving around normally fuel consumption wont be any worse, infact im sure some people report better mpg with decats!!!
172s are cheap now but they still cost the same ammount to run as they always have.
the DCI works out WAY cheaper when you consider the MPG difference, 18,000 mile services vs 12,000 miles, insurance, road tax, even tyres! lol
sounds nice quieter than mine was before the decat! was far to loud on full chat when decated but was a good laugh, come off the power and pop pop pop bang bang pop! i got a powergain though, more of a gain than i got going from standard exhaust to cat back to start with!
im sorry but how is a remaped dci going to get beat by a 1.2 corsa? a 1.2 corsa has what 75bhp if its a 16v! a remaped dci, 100bhp+ and 3x more torque than the corsa, dreamer!
yes if your out for performance buying a 172 is the best option but if your looking for cheap fun then you wont really...
drivers side engine mount by the sound of it, loosen bolts, pull engine forward with the help of a friend, tighten bolts, thats what sorted mine if its the same noise i had, was more like a grinding, vibrating noise than a knocking
i was had a shot of my mates 1.2 16v on my old apex -60mm kit tonight and oh my god its a laugh to drive, brilliant wee car you can throw it about like mad!
like ali said dont get angel eyes they look w**k get a set of xenons!!
where about in paisley are you from? im working there this week.
yeah lol, if i had just replaced the pump and belt it would have been fine and still going today i bet! it needed a rocker cover gasket too but other than that it was perfect! never had 1 mechanical failure apart from coilpack and a cv joint braking and destroying the box (had steel wheels on...
haha! i got it at 115k or there abouts, hammered f**k out it untill 140k by this time the waterpump was gone, useless and then the cambelt went, not sure if the waterpump seazed or something causing this?
£150 later i stuck another 1.2 16v lump with 50k in it from a 2001 car and it was fine...
id just service it, decent oil, gearbox oil, brembo max disks, greenstuff pads, braided hoses and decent fluid.
then dci100 intercooler and remap :)
15" wheels with eagle F1s, coilovers
sorted :)
im sure its VVT not being activated untill the coolant temp gets to a certain temperature (and some other perimiters).
henk @ Fastchip sorts it with his remaps.
the rear mounts are crap you can replace it but it wont last long so i replaced mine and done similar to the above to keep it in shape, worked a treat!
i start my engine drive straight away because im late for work, drive half a mile then come to an.... airfield which it hits 135mph on every day lol all within first few minutes of driving!
54mm probably but measure to be sure, your meassuring the spacing of the 2 bots on the bottom of the damper.
meassure to and from the same point on each bolt (bottom of the top bolt to the bottom of the bottom bolt or centre of the top to the centre of the bottom if you know what i mean.)
id go for the above idea by buying a 2.0 16v coupe and you have everything needed.
but if you fancy a challenge an F4R from a 172/182 clio would be ideal but not sure how much hastle it is? although it has been done before.
the chassis will be fine! decent suspension and brakes and you'll be...
