    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Few spots from Dubai last week: My missus also hired me this for a day, which probably deserves a thread in itself:

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

LLF is bloody awful. A lot of these modified car "reviewers" are though.

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

Yeah I think he did get lucky. Posted a video of a Lamborghini crash or something didn't he? Never mind the fact he was loaded and could afford to put time into building it up. I don't mind videos that are filmed like that to be honest as, in some cases, it can actually add something to the...

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

And yet he has almost 2m YouTube subscribers  When I was at the 'ring a few years ago, some of the guys I went with disappeared off so they could watch him filming. They were really pleased when they were in the background of one of his videos. Like I said above, I just don't see what...

    The New Clio Cup Car...

I guess I could have said "engine/speed" rather than engine, as that's the main difference that's going to influence performance. They had started to dip their toes into the aero pool with the MK4 too with the rear wing too. It had paddle shift too I believe? It's going to be interesting to see...

    The New Clio Cup Car...

...was on display at Autosport International. Thought people might like to see it, so took a few snaps. It's a decent looking thing, though perhaps fairly mild in terms of spec compared to the MK4. A shame they only had the race version though. I'd like to have seen the rally one too.

Thought I may as well chuck a few of my pictures in here to avoid starting a duplicate thread:

    Autosport international 2020

Was a good show, went yesterday. Just annoying how Thursday and Friday are different to Saturday and Sunday, so you miss stuff unless you do at least two days. The trade days get more and more frustrating too. It used to be so open, but so many students and pretend traders now go that the cars...

Show us your decade of motoring

Sell your house/children/wife/dog/cat/parents/rabbit/neighbours and go rallying - there's nothing like it.

Sounds nice. Just needs a Motorsport UK passport and to be used as intended then ;)

What's the spec of the new one? Looks pretty serious?

I looked at a couple of these before I bought my 172. Always had a certain appeal. The seats were lovely. The two I looked at were dogs though. That looks lovely in red on prets. I wish I'd gone for those wheels on mine, but couldn't justify the expense on a lease. The Cadiz wheels are awful.

Some lovely stuff in here, and a real mixture. Keep them coming peeps. Is that an accord in there? No. I had to suffer them, so CS does too.

Mine took forever, but I still did it lol I think you just won this thread.

Show us your decade of motoring

Definitely. Always had a soft spot for Fords. Love how you can Rob bits from the parts bin and make a pretty capable car. Parts were so easily interchangeable on the older stuff.

Show us your decade of motoring

Once the ST220 got a bit leggy, I thought I would be sensible and buy a nice big estate car. It was comfortable and economical enough, but god it was dull... ...so I decided to be irresponsible, which is where I discovered Renaults, with a 172 Cup. Still my favourite of all the cars I've...

Show us your decade of motoring

I shamelessly stole this idea after seeing @Ricardos do it on here and Instagram. It made me think what I was driving 10 years ago, and everything I've had since which, as it turns out, is quite a lot! I had loads of cars while I was at uni but, on this day in 2010, I was driving a modified...

There are a few kit cars in DR2.0 I believe. I really need to buy an Xbox lol

    The XBox One Thread

Yeah I had that one. It had the Simmonite sisters' Auto Windscreens Escort Kit Car in it. I wanted it so badly when it came out, but it was pretty rubbish lol.

    The XBox One Thread

Was that the one with the F2 cars in it? I think I had that if so. I haven't played one for quite a while but things are meant to have improved a bit. Ryan Champion and Jon Armstrong were consultants on DR2.0. Apparently they have even modelled surface degradation into the roads!

    The XBox One Thread

This one is actually meant to be rather good. They've put a lot of effort into making it accurate apparently and a few pro rally drivers were involved in making it.

What do people spend on their cars ?

Mostly because it's their hobby and they enjoy it. Does there need to be more reason than that?

What do people spend on their cars ?

Some of my cars have been tools, others have been passion projects. Ultimately, those cars are a hobby, so don't need to make sense financially, or even objectively. Something doesn't have to be "the best" for a person to have an emotional attachment to it. The best things in life rarely make...

    Lightweight track car

The Cup has thinner glass, less sound deadening, a crappy light rear bench, no middle seatbelt, no air con (it was optional), no ABS, no CD changer, no spare wheel and maybe a couple of other bits I forgot. The Turinis might be lighter than the standard wheels too. The shells are identical to my...

    Lightweight track car

Some logic in this, as Cups seem to be getting more expensive. The advantage with a Cup is the lack of ABS/air con more than weight, but those things can be removed easily enough in reality.

What do people spend on their cars ?

I don't and never will add it up. It's a hobby, so who cares. Better than pissing it up the wall on a Friday or Saturday night.
