bangs are normally a result of exhaust heat causing unburnt fuel to explode,
normally only happens when the engines running rich,
other than that, yozzasport do some sporty exhaust
water pump is usually run off the drive belt,
not using air conditioning wont make much difference,
its stipping at the same rate as the revs, reducing the load might made a slight difference, but i would risk it
also rubber perishes at a standard rate,
and if it snapps, it will cause havok...

where should i set my price range if i want to wrap 2 17" rims in something that will help me driving not crossing my fingers at every long bend,

dampers are fine as far as i know,

if the bumpers a grand,
then the lights, wing, bonnet slam pannel, from renault would explain the 2.5k damage estimate.
i say buy it back, shouldnt be too hard to fix, and youll get it back cheap as chips,
could even make money if you have a good source of parts

its a 53 plate clio, and im assuming average millage,
though all the damage was front end, and its been rolled,
so that might give an idea as to how it was driven,
obvioulsy only a very rough idea,

sawn in half,
so engine, ecu, loom, gearbox,
driveshafts, front suspension,
steering, brakes,
also the dash, with the clocks,
no rims, no bodywork,
no seats,

ive put a new bootlid on my car (been in my garage for a long time)
and ive just realised, i never cleaned the glue off from when it was tinted,

if all power to the unit went,
it wouldnt close up, because it will have no power to run the motor to retract the screen,
its acting as it has been turned off, (but it still has power)
get a Multi meter and check that you get 12v+ from both the red and yellow wires while the ignition is on...
have you checked the fuse in the fusebox??
try perhaps the headunit in another car,
assuming thats got no speakers shorting, may help narrow your problem down,
also, if its in the manual, id take it as true lol,
but a sub is not on a speaker wire from the headunit,
if the sub was shorting...
most probably condensation in the plugs,
was the car stored properly?? (battery out, tyres down, water out, plugs out, brake pads taken out, handbrake off)
or just parked and left?
coilpack and plugs may have got abit icky over time,
or the crank sensor may have perished,
im thinking about putting badges back on the boot of my clio,

what colour would people suggst on a monaco blue clio??
