These photos are definitely not post wax apart from one before it rained with the turinis on. Currently got my winter cup wheels on as the Alpin A4s are fantastic for the winter weather here, turinis are all waxed up and stored for the summer. Just used some old school Simoniz original wax and...
Looks like a quality build, love the red wheels, my winter cup wheels might get a change for next year! Don't sell, you'll regret it! (but... if you do decide to sell, I will seriously consider the rear cage. Looks great in white!)
I second FairPlay to this! Wish I could have bought one new but it was the year I passed my test so that wouldn'nt have been too likely! Fingers crossed I have mine till 100k, only 26 to go(only do 3k a year :)!
Makes me want to go and spend a week cleaning my BG as this is evidence of why I end up with black cars, when clean nothing comes close. Stunning finish!
A tiny update before getting some new post wax photos up, the car hasn't been cleaned in too long but winter in Scotland makes it feel pointless or the water starts to freeze like last week...
Finally ordered some standard rear lights from @midge and want to refit clear side repeaters for more...
My reverse lights have stopped working and I honestly don't know where to start really. Both lamps are fine so I think it's the sensor. I did manage to get them on once but I can't again. Can I access the switch from inside or do I have to take a lot of in the underside? Any photos?
Thanks
Just read through all of this, looks great so far. A nicely done track car is always better to read than one that has just been torn to shreds. Just wondered where your bullets are from and what colour combination it is? I want to get smoothed black ones and still undecided on either blank BG or...
Sad to read you have to sell it after doing so much to it over the last few months and turning it into a great example. Wish I had found one like this when I was looking to buy one for sure. whoever gets it will be lucky indeed!
Epic bump but this is exactly what I want to do. Anyone know where to get this, can only find black or very light grey at the moment. How hard was it to glue on?
Cheers
So just to eradicate doubt over the pro springs: I had a rear disc binding which was the rear Noise, a front left ball joint which affected the tracking and a front left top mount which is causing creaking on the front. The handling and ride with the pro springs is great and I think the drop is...
Not sure if I have fixed this at all right but had to try and improve it for now. Just wound the caliper back in a little which I feel is probably not right but if not I'll probably need a new caliper anyway. Or at least strip it down and repair it.
It is floating properly I believe so not sure...
So, a quick update: After the lower ball joints were fitted the tracking was dead on again so I haven't bothered with that just yet, the rear offside caliper is binding a little and its driving me insane and I still have some noise from the nearside front which is definitely the top mount...
Car looks great @Filters So jealous of the painted/coated undercar parts (rear axle, front arb etc.). If I had a garage its the first thing I would do, fitting my new powerflex bushes to all the rusty old metal was heartbreaking!
@Luke... Car looks great! Do you have a link for the flocked parts seller? Do you just send yours to them or are they random pre-flocked items for sale? Like the different wheels, makes a change from the others.
So, home now after nearly 500 miles in a couple days. Not got worse, still noisy under braking at lower speeds or heavy load(which I avoided doing) but it is an on/off noise.
What is the caliper pin? @con1981
This will hopefully still get through the MOT tomorrow!!
Haha, cheers for the info. It's driven to Loch Lomond ok so it'll do. Think the caliper is just seizing up. I freed it a couple weeks ago and it's just happened again. Needs a proper strip down.
A delightful rubbing/grinding has started on my car, not just under braking, I can hear it at any speed under 30. Any ideas? Need to drive about 150 miles tomorrow, slightly less than tonight. Just going to jack up and check nothing's weirdly loose.
Thanks!
I would go for the pioneer perfect fit and custom fit for front and rear though your new set up may be able to power something better. Without doing any wiring any better may be wasted though(in my limited knowledge).
Just read that again, if you are fitting a sub you really need an amp.
I have jsut fitted new cup shocks and Eibach pros with purple powerflex all over the place, new lower ball joints and about to fit solid top mounts, so far it feels fantastic apart from the creak from the old top mounts. Slightly harder than stock but still OK for normal roads, this could be...
