Well cool if you dont mind me saying......
Talking of percentages...
When I took my car in to Renault I think they were 0% booked up that day and 100% desparate for some work!
That said, AC Williams at Grantham are pretty good.
Strangely enough, took mine in the other week to Renault and they said my rear pads were 70% worn.
£ 89 inc VAT to replace, while they've got the wheels off.
No thanks I said, my mate is a racing engineer [and a fully skilled mechanic], he'll do them for nowt if i get the pads.
PS, 1500 miles...

Do I have to be really careful not to overtighten when I put to rubber top back on?
Finger tight?
Just a little pinch with the spanner?
My one-off samples should be done tomorrow, so i will fit them to mine and if ok I'll have 25 pairs from 304 s/s made by the end of the...
Had my stealth at TopGear Doncaster.
Decent quality - no fitment issues yet. No rattles, no banging.
Just a bit boomy at low revs and a slight loss of torque. I had a large front silencer and large rear silencer. Thats as quite as they could make it. It's appreciably louder than standard...
How accurate do you want them????
You're right Fred it's 0.1mm accuracy.
Surely if you're after 18.5mm i/d either 18.4mm or 18.6mm is going to be ok? How critical is it?
Stainless shouldn't encourage any galvanic reaction between dis-similar metals should it? Same difference with Stainless...
I am back at work on Monday.
We have some 3mm stainless in stock.
And we have a Laser.....it'll be like shelling peas.
I'll get one of our guys in the office to work a price out for a batch of say 50/100.
Then I'll post a price per pair if anyone's interested.
Stainless OK Fred?
James
Its the cast ali thing that sits just in front of the 'renaultsport' badged part of the engine. In front of the plastic bit.
Sorry for the non-technical reply.:S
I put new bolts in, tightened them up and something still rattles. Think its the suspension on mine.
Re: which car ???????????????????????
Dont know if I dare say it marksman....
.....it's not on your list, but it is better than all of them.....

Crank it up to the naughty side of 8000 rpm and you'll never look back.
Bombproof and not boring - Audi A3, VW Golf =...
The muppet that serviced my car last didn't bolt the fuel rail guard back on. Just 'placed it on'.
C0ck. Wondered what the rattling was til i looked.
Try wickes or B&Q or focus? They should do torx.
Yup, dead easy.
You'll need a torx bit [preferably with a magnetic holder] to remove the lid off the airbox. Whip the old paper jobbie out, put the new one in making sure the rubber is sealed nicely all the way round and then put the airbox lid back on and fit screws.
Bingo, job done.
ps...
Anyone got the latest TomTom map of Great Britain?
I drive over 'fields' when I'm on the A1 near the A1/M62/M1 link near Pontefract.
And my home road's not on the map too.:dapprove:
PM me if you can help me out, I've got TomTom One.
James
1/50XP views the current drawing at 1:50 in the paperspace viewport you're working in.
If you view and put 1/50, it just shows you the drawing 50 times smaller than you were originally viewing it at.
I've got a TomTom One, not the re-designed one, but the original.
Nice'n'slim. Looks good, fits easy and most of all, with this particular model you don't experience any problems getting the GPS signal. With inferior models the signal can be screwed up by the athermic (heat reflective)...
^^^ Yeah, I can recognise my drawings because they look better than everyone elses.:coffee:
Know what you mean about the money, £45k a year gets you nowt these days.;)
Comes out in perspective......?
Uh? You were doing 3D in the same lesson then? lol.;)
Now you're just confusing everyone.
Just kidding Guy.....we knew what you meant. :rasp:
Like 172beast says,
I usually detail in model space, then scale my A0 border up say, 50 times to make a 1:50 print.
Makes things easy to work with when your sending files to other people to p1ss about with.

Before ITG and S/S cat back, mine seemed hard work getting upto and over 120. Obviously only do these sort of speeds on the autobahns when I'm working in Germany .
With mods, i can breeze 140.
0-60mph last timed at 7.5s [damp, not hitting limiter]:coffee:
I'll have to try a dry one and keep...
Chris,
Nice sound! What gain did the Chipwizards re-map give you?
i've got ITG filter with std cold air feed and powerflow stainless cat back system, just wondering. Missus is treating me to a re-map for xmas, was going to get it done at RSTuning Leeds [pmurray]
James
Mmm. It's difficult to describe. Just feels like the engines labouring because of the deep burble of the exhaust note, like pulling off in the wrong gear.
I'll have to let you know if the re-map improves this.
PS, my cat back is a replica of the OEM exhaust, 2" pipe, mid silencer and rear...
If you want yr car quiet as can be, then yes stick with it, however reason I got SS exhaust is because the backbox fell off and the centre section was knackered.
Renault OEM fitted = £450 approx - mild steel - 1yr guarantee
Powerflow S/S fitted = £230 - will not rust - lifetime...
Thanks Rich, I'll give it a go. I've got heavy & medium duty microfibres and a really smooth one. The heavy/medium are great for buffing the polish/wax off, only then do i use the smooth one.
Will post on progress.:D
Er, just going by what it says on their website edde....
15%. Paul said i should expect about 12lb ft torque increase on a standard 172. I have since added ITG panel and freeflow S/S catback. Still not been for re-map yet though. Strapped for cash!!:(
