Wow, that does sound meaty.
Bit loud for me to live with everyday, but as Lee says its yr trackday car....cool.
....will it go over 120mph?
I almost got one of Yozzas Ragnotti's, but Fred said it may kill my head with a 50mile drive to work each day.:dead:
Usually wash the car once a week. Tried claying - impressive results! Wax every 3 months.
Took my car for service at Renault today. Went to pick it up...they're just giving it a wash, i was told.
10 mins later its parked out front waiting for me.
Looked like they'd chucked a bucket of dirty...
I almost went for the Blueflame, but my backbox fell off before I ordered and I couldn't wait 2 weeks for them to make me one.:(
I got a S/S Powerflow stealth cat back for £230. Cheap compared to the £440 for the Renault system. Mines got lifetime guarantee, Renault has 1 yr. I've had 2 OEM ones...
All depends on who fits it. Had Powerflow custom stealth 2" cat back system fitted last month at Top Gear Doncaster.
Quality is good, fit is spot-on. Little boomy at low speed/revs, but revs more freely higher up.
Mine seems to have lost a bit of torque low down. And it grumbles/booms a bit...
Just interested, who are you insured with?
I've just f*cked Norwich Union off and moved to ADMIRAL.
Last year £420, this year £530 - and I've had no accidents! Looked around and all in all Admiral were cheapest.
Got my new cover, £375 per year inclusive of declared mods (filter, stainless...
Think I would first check that you can use 99 ron okay in your 1.2
Some of the smaller engines don't like it.
Brother has a Seat Ibiza and 97 ron and above is strictly out of bounds.:S
Yup.
My powerflow S/S cat back's going back to the garage on Monday to be "quietened down" a bit.
Asked them if they can put a third silencer in like the Blueflame ones for the 172.
.....not that they're quiet.....
gt_gaz and baldylocks are right. I've only had mine about a month and its...
Going back to powerflow. He's gonna have a look at it, check for pinholes in the welding.
Bugger the whole thing I'm going to pmurray at RS tuning for a re-map.
That should smooth things out.
Just a bit boomy at low revs. Think I'll take it back to Powerflow next weekend and see if they can check the welds and quieten it down a bit, maybe go for that 3rd silencer where the renault resonator is usually, on the up sweep before going over the axle just in front of the back box.
The...
This ones got 2 silencers, I heard the Blueflames have 3?
Although i also heard that the lads who had their Blueflames for the 172 in the group buy thought they were VERY LOUD!:S
Where do I get one from and how much?
I know people have been talking loads about they cost £400+ from Renault. Which is why I got a stainless with lifetime guarantee when my backbox fell off.
Thinking of taking my Powerflow Stealth off and putting back to standard, then car may be for sale...
Know what you mean Roy, wheres the advantage of that extra power? Lost with the extra body weight.
Ok, so the grips tenacious but imo most drivers are happier [more comfortable] to use outright power on a straight as opposed to ragging it round corners.
James
I gotta get a racing blue one. However I am tempted by the new Civic Type R.
Maybe I could have the clio and the missus could have the CTR:cool:
Just that the Hondas are bombproof......from experience.
paul_h172, we're working with Murphys up there. If i were up there a bit more, I'd flag a...
Rolling off the docks at Teesport!
Up there today, surveying site for a bridge I've drawn for one of the new jettys.
All of a sudden on the jetty approach road, loads of 197's with the xenons on racing towards me!!!!!!
Blue, red, silver, then loads of the standard ones. Obviously just...
What sort of power you running on that Thomms?
Think I'm gonna go for it. I'll dust the old VISA card down!!!
Just informed my insurance company and they want an extra £20 for the year.....big deal eh?
Thats £ 395 yearly premium with £200 excess - billion years no claims bonus inc...
Paid less than that for the cat back exhaust!
If it really improves the driveability I might just go for it. I'll sell a kidney or something.
What other mods have you got on yours mate?
Whats your opinion Paul? How much will it cost and how 'invisible is it to insurance companies?'
Is there any adjustment to take into account for the air/fuel mixture due to the air filter/ freeflow exhaust?
James
Mmmmm.....
I read that BB tuning [is that right?] have an offer on at the moment.
Need a 48k service in 4 weeks time, was thinking about GDI in cambridge? Could cobble both together and come back with a re-vitalised car?
Opinions on that one too please...........
Have got a Powerflow stealth type free-flow stainless cat back exhaust [2" pipework with mid and rear silencer] and ITG panel filter.
The car has a nice deep burble at low revs [bit boomy under load] but is nice and sporty at higher to full revs.
Thing is....would it be worth having a...
Ben......will have a look at the Photobucket thing. Thanks.
Will get my ar*e into gear and subscribe this week.:sleepy:
The results truly take some believing after your first claying. Found it made the whole polishing thing soooo much easier. Even the missus was impressed and they know...
Nice one Rich;)
Will give it a go. Have followed yr advice on the back of other peoples threads and haven't gone wrong yet.
Had my first claying session yesterday. Smooth as glass [smoother in fact!] after a good coat of AG SRP and the EGP! That was on the missus's T reg Micra [Red]
I...
