Power is cool when you've come from something.....not quite as good....
I have a monaco blue 172 like 'gadge', and strangely enough, as in his pic, a red micra.[for the missus of course....the clio is mine]
If anyone goes to Pitlochry, get yourself in Robertson's Whisky...
Thats one way.
Another way to tell is the UK imports don't have an alarm as standard, so if you've got an extra plip key fob as well as yr standard key, then it could be an import.
Hence, if it's not got an alarm, its an import.
Dont worry too much if it is an import, if its a nice car and...
Sorry to hi-jack.
Racerstu, just wonderin what you think to your KTEC Stealth, I'm thinking of going for one?
This might be a question that Stimpy05 might want answering too.
Noisy? Quiet?
Don't want anything that shouts out "I AM A BOY RACER, PLEASE GIVE ME A SPEEDING TICKET"

Just taking a leisurely drive to get some Optimax, about 2pm
Driving thro FARNDON, Newark, a Clio 182 in Arctic Blue with gun metal alloys pulled onto the A46 where the SPECS cameras are heading towards Newark.
I was going in opposite direction and immediately showed respect for the gleaming...
Hi all
Just a note about care for your alcantara seats if you've got them in your 172/182 etc.
I've heard people talk, and read on this site about problems of the alcantara surface "balling" up. You know what I mean, like little threads appearing.....
I've got a 2003 plate 172 and my drivers...
The internal ones which fit on the motherboard usually have an aerial - better reception.
If you're not all fingers and thumbs, they're easy enough to fit. Just earth yourself first before touching any of the components inside the pc.
That's prob why people say get a USB one!
Buy one, try...
You get what you pay for. In my opinion and if you check some of the reviews on websites such as ebuyer and dabs.com, you may see that people don't reckon much to the cheaper usb type adaptors.
i.e they sometimes have low reception if your using some kit downstairs wirelessly connected to kit...
Good review JustinRT
Got to be honest....
Your car looks the cat's ass. Racing Blue is a cracking colour.
Blows the 197 away. The new one just looks a bit fat ars*d at the back and a bit plain too.
Like the venturi though.

Inferno 182 spotted on A617 Newark to Mansfield at Hockerton, just before downhill/ uphill into village.
Flashed my lights to show respect.....driver was yawning i think with one hand scratching the back of his head!?

Its not fair on Renault?
They're the guys putting less than adequate shocks in our 'pride and joy'.
I have an 03 plate 172 with 44k on the clock and have had front and rear shocks replaced all round. Both Fronts replaced and 1 rear within 2 yrs so were under the [import] warranty...
172 2003 model.
Get around 380-400 off a full tank.
Trip indicates 40mpg off almost every tank. I drive 50 mile round trip to work each day, semi-fast national speed limit A-roads. You sometimes get held up behind trucks etc, so by default it helps your economy.....and believe me the 172...
My wheel was just the same [melted]
Looked like a Salvador Dali interior!!!!!
Very sticky too but only on the right hand side. Took it to Renault before 3yr warranty ran out and they replaced it. I thought previous owner had messed it up and cleaned it with something too harsh. Since buying...

You've made a fantastic job of cleaning yr car up.
I had a Momo [made in Italy] knob in my Accord Type R. They rule!
FOR THE TYRES.........
try Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing.
I use it on the Clio 172 all the time and it always gets a remark wherever i go.
Spray it on all over.....it...
Didn't want to push my luck with the warranty thing.
Look like previous owner got some thing on the steering wheel and whilst trying to get it off just made the steering wheel shiny and blistered.
Not nice.
Moaned to Renault about it saying it was getting worse and they replaced it.....
£...
Renault usually put in 10w40 semi synthetic, even in 172/182's, unless you ask otherwise.
If you want to go for this, get down yr nearest Shell garage and put some Helix Plus in.
Its good value and the car will run nice and smooth. About £25 ish for 5 litres.
I have a mkiii 2003 172 and have...
Have Clio 172 2003 model.
Bust a shock on way back from Scotland - 300 miles of steady(ish) wallowy driving.
Cost me £85 from AC Williams Renault at Grantham......not covered by 3yr warranty - they only cover them for 2 yrs.
Looked at the previous car history......I've had the car 6...
Just changed the oil from the last Renault service.
They use 10w40 semi synthetic. The Elf excellium is apparently the same as the Total Quartz oil, which you'll probably get cheaper.
I have just changed the oil and filter - 6 months since last service.
Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 fully...
Spot on!
Sorry dude......missed that on page 1
Bro works at beer fridge manufacturer, oh also Renault factory on France/Belgium border, where they used to make the R19 16V cabrios.....cool car.
I am reliably informed that the reason aircon systems need re-gassing, maintaining/break down etc, is because the refridgerant gas in the systems acts as the 'lubricant' for the pipework when in use.
i.e you don't use it - it don't work!
Switching the air con on for about 10 mins per week of...
