Unfortunately, they're the only ones that can tell you if you're covered by their policy or not dude. Don't make me get that pic of the crystal ball out from the internet cupboard... ;)

    Laid Up Policy

I'm considering a 2nd car - track day 95% of it's life. How does that work with regards to the policy ? Say (hypertheticals) I do 1000 miles a year on road to track, but 300 a time on track .. and I do 10 a year. So the car's showing that I've done 4k but only 1 was on road. Or is this not...

    New tyres, puncture already

Go back to where you came from .. with receipt. Explain the situ - they should check it, see where it's leaking and resolve. 10p says it's a naff bead or a dodgy valve.

    Jared's SSS

Not surprised that the ride is a bit firm - have you thought about replacing the rubber bands with actual tyres ?! :rasp: Might be worth going a profile up, to get a bit of comfort back :o They 40s or 35s !? Apart from that - looks mint.

Decent winter tyres v's premium summer tyres

For the 16" Clio tyres, look at 195/45 as well.. Seem to be cheaper !! Less is more when it comes to snow - the (proper) Mini's were king in the 70s on the winter rally stages thanks to their skinny tyres ;)

    Tyre rating question

As long as you stay under 149mph, the rears won't explode - there'll still be a safety factor in there so you'll be fine.

    172 lump in a 1.2 ph2

Tax will be ~£100 a year saving. Insurance will not be a saving. So, if it costs you £1000 all in (bearing in mind an engine alone is £3-500), it'll be 10 birthdays from now before you're up at least. Also, bear in mind you can get a (ratty) 172 for <£1000 now....

    Back end sliding in wet

So what tyres are they and what pressures are they currently (when cold) ? Always start simple !!

    Back end sliding in wet

What tyres and what pressures ? A few PSI up or down can make a difference ! Also as mentioned, shocks do like popping for fun on these... assuming it's got standard suspension.

    What lens ~ £150? Canon.

Man maths needed. Look at the price of a 70-200L f 2.8 IS .. now look at the price of the 10-20. OMG HOW CHEAP!?? BUY BUY BUY !!!!

Hankook W310 .. in fat 16". They're OK .. not incredible but very good I'd say. Braking hard from, ok, lets call it 60, on snow/ice into large dual carriageway roundabouts and full throttle out the other side in 2nd/3rd was no issue at all last time I checked ;) Bit like a wet day in a...

Winter tyres FTW. 100%. Local place here will store your spare wheels/tyres for free between seasons. Might find somewhere near you that does that ? Ben, do you still work for CamSkill ? :)

    1.2 struggling to accelerate

Do these things have a MAF !? Sounds similar to when my old MAF went on an old car. Idle was OK, under load it was not happy until it was warm. Turned out to be the oil in the new air filter ruining the sensoe. Could, however, be coilpack, sparks, HTs, fuel pump or a number of other things..

    Bonnet vents

Doesn't answer the question. Why you'd want a big hole where the electronics are is beyond me.
