Well now you've changed the discs and pads I can confidently say it's doing the same as Wobba's mk1 did when it was mapped by APD. Your throttle opening at idle is very very low meaning the idle is being artificially raised with too much ignition timing. Closely related to why the cold start is...
It's got a very hard pedal like you get if you pump the brakes with the engine off. Car had brake issues before with the previous owner, and a new one way valve improved it. I changed the shoddy servo vac pipes on it as they were leaking, kinked and too soft so being sucked flat. so there's...
speak to a parts department if you really want to use genuine (I wouldn't, they're arse rape prices) they're graded as standard with colour codes so there's multiple part numbers. Personally I would use some decent quality non genuine items, and carefully check the clearances
sheared bolts are down to over tightening, end of story
Had some tyres fitted a few months back and asked the fitter what he was doing my front bolts up to. 130Nm apparently. No you're bloody not!!!!!!
agree whole heartedly. I've seen no end of 200sx's that have "executive" on the logbook, 3 of my own had it, but they were all 1993 models and the exec was only made in 1991. Pure and simple DVLA oversight.
I also bought a green mk1 golf once, and the logbook said silver. I found the VIN plate...
I use my ITB'd mk1 (which is Bex's old car, although I added the bodies) as a daily too, And I'll do the same on the 172 I've just bought once I've rebuilt the engine. Nothing beats the noise, and they're so nice to drive
he had jenvey DCOE bodies on an F4R in a mk1 running a canems ECU from me, and mapped by Andy, until it dropped a valve in seemingly increasingly common F4R style :( awesome fun on track until it died.
Bex's car is lovely. I was with Andy on the rollers until 2am the night before FCS 2009...
on a car with a single fuel line to the rail, the regulator is in the tank. It's integral to the fuel pump assembly, so that needs pulling out to change the regulator
I like these. Played a with a few in my 200sx days and they really handle amazingly. Changing exhausts on them is a thoroughly hateful experience though, as is changing the turbo
it's down to a lazy fuel pressure regulator. Turn the ignition on without starting the engine, then off again, then on and start the car. it will 100% start first time
opis are salesmen. their tech stuff is all cut and paste. They dont know specific vehicle requirements. I've had a similar discussion with them on Williams clio when they were trying to sell fully synth engine oils. the F7R drinks fully synth like water
