    Dephaser removal (unusual)

wrap an old cambelt round it, then twist the belt a few times and use it to hold the pulley still. A trick commonly used for getting the oil pump pulleys off mk1's

drilling out front disc torx screws

Impact gun is a much better way to get them moving. big bars just round the torx out way too easily. I do go through a fair amount of torx bits though :(

    Exhaust for dci? Heather x

it's a turbo, a better exhaust will ALWAYS be an improvement for perfomance. they can sound a little agricultural though. Come down, I'll check out that knock you mentioned to me the other day, and I'll measure up for making something ;)

drilling out front disc torx screws

rather than hitting the torx bit in, use the ball end of the hammer, and hit the screw itself, quite hard

    ClioSport Saturday - Feedback Survey

why? I've gone to literally dozens of events run by other car clubs where there's a full weekend of camping. I went with SXOC last month, spent friday to monday on a campsite in Derbyshire with around 150 people. It's a brilliant way to spend a weekend

pretty much exactly my opinion. At the camping afterwards, I just sat about chatting b****cks to people I'd never met before and it was great. I think being able to settle in for the weekend/night really helped.

    Stupid question

possibly the single most stupid thing you can do to an engine. I'll sometimes jetwash a bay out before doing a big strip down, simply to make it easier to work on. I've seen more misfires and rusted up plugs and leads from washed engines than you'd believe

Vmaxx for that application. Nice comfortable road coilover. Definitely not for track

    Another "track pad" thread

you'll more likely find that you use the brakes LESS rather than more as you gain experience/confidence. I'd expect that you're relying on the brakes far too much, and once you get braver with cornering speed, you'll scrub off less speed, so less braking strain. On the flip side, you will likely...

Clio Mk1 (williams or valver) handle as well as the mk2 172/182

really tricky to say which is better as it's so much down to taste. the mk2 rear end is easier to customise, but I prefer the way a torsion bar rear handles. What I've really found is wrong with my RSI (same as a valver front end) is the lack of castor

    dephaser getting done £1071.71

Just did a quick from memory quote and it comes out at over £800 from me if you need the tdc sensor too. Not shocked by that renault price tbh, they have bigger overheads so charge a higher hourly rate. You should still be going to birchdown though

    Coilover choices and handling.

give me a call about spax coilovers, I've worked with them to develop brand new 182 cup fitment coilovers, take a look at the link I posted earlier.

Attention Nurburgring pilots (any track really) - Some advise required if you please

Re: Attention Nurburgring pilots (any track really) - Some advise required if you ple genuine are ferodo fyi, repeated abuse causing that IMO I think the CL's were doing that as they are so much higher friction, they produce a lot more heat. Not something many people will realise is a problem...

Re: Attention Nurburgring pilots (any track really) - Some advise required if you ple I've seen EBC, Ferodo, PF, and genuine original pads do the same as that though. infact I've had EBC green stuff fal apart and fall OUT of the caliper while I've been driving. Twice. If you're killing that...
