Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

Right I'll be booking my car in for a cambelt in the next week or two. So far I'm thinking I will need the cambelt kit, aux belt and water pump changing. Is there anything else I might as well get done at the same time for little extra labour? Engine mounts, gearbox oil.......... Also is...

    182 unsteady at speed

Does the cup spoiler actually give them better down force on the 1*2 or is that just for looks?

    182 unsteady at speed

Must admit the rear can feel very light/twitchy under heavy high speed breaking. Other than that mine is fine at speed.

    Possible gearbox leak...

Thats fine then. What about the sponge thing, is it worth getting another or just leave it without? Cheers

    Possible gearbox leak...

I have just found a piece of sponge (wrapped in black plastic) hanging from the under tray. I'm guessing from reading this it has come from the car and not picked up from the road somehow? Will it matter if I leave it off or should I get a new one? It also had some very black oil soaked on it...

    Cliosport 172 2003

Clutches are heavy and have a high bite point. Are you using a standard exhaust or is it a stainless? I know my standard one fell apart about 2-3 months after I got it. Stainless is your best bet if that's the case.

    Cliosport 172 2003

Could be torque steer if its under acceleration? if not then might be uneven tyre wear or tracking maybe. Don't think the spluttering is normal, mine doesn't do it.

differences between the 172 and 172 cup?

Not being funny but I thrash my 172 just as much as I would if I had a cup. I just like to have the nicer interior, climate, esp.......

    172 vs 182

True put the same good engine in the cup and it should technically be quicker. Maybe it helps being a 10 stone light weight like me that helps too:D . On anything other than a straight road I would say it mainly comes down to the driver.

    172 vs 182

Imo I would say the one with the quicker engine is going to win when it comes to straight line speed. I've read on here a good few times how they get quicker with millage........ I've also kept up with a cup in mine when I've had a play with one. And thats before we start on it being down to...

We got a load in at work for the none English students and tbh they aren't all that great. Poor battery and by the time the OS is on there is very little room for personal data. The screen/keyboard is very small and no DVD drive, quite slow also. Not the best way to spend our tax money thats...
