very true we should all drive with our eyes open and its very rare that these situations arise but they do sometimes and abs can help prevent accidents when they do.
Oh and Mark when I said about cup drivers thinking they are better drivers I was not refering to all cup drivers, including...
In all the years I have been driving I have never needed abs also but the fact remains it does save lives .
You might never put your self in a situation to need it but other people on the road can put you in that situation and on that one occasion if/when it happens can save lives or your car...
On public roads abs saves lives, simple as!
People should be able to modulate there braking and drive within the conditions of the road, but on the roads things can happen that are out of the drivers control. In those situations abs will always work better than any human attempt.
To many cup...
Well £265 in the end:(
Failed on hazard switch, 1 track rod end, front disks/pads, removed and refitted CV boots with grease and the MOT.
Then had to get 6 months tax straight after. Gutted:(
In a straight line it can go either way but would still be close(get one with a good engine!). In the twisties I can't see the cup getting that far ahead, it would be down to the driver imo.
I also prefer the mod cons you get with the full fat:quiet: It also still puts that smile on my face...
The 231 was as quick as a 350z which was as quick as a M3 round the top gear or fifth gear track if not both lol.
The clio wouldn't stand a chance against one lol.
Got mine made and fitted while I waited. Took 2-3h. Booked it in the week before. Make sure you get a good place, I've heard some do a poor job compared to others.
I find mine starts to change noticeably around 4k then really kicks in at 5k.
Lol at the people saying there is no kick in the 1*2's. That might be the case if your used to driving/going in bigger more powerful turbo cars and the like. But if the Clio is your first experience of a powerful car...
Amazing cars, only ever seen 1 on the road. As if you would feel like a plank pulling up to work in one. They have a lot of road presence and the fact that it would kill almost anything on the road yet its 20 years old.......
I remember going to watch them at the RAC rally back in the day...
I took it off on mine before it did any damage. Did without for nearly 2 weeks while they could fit me in for the new one.
I remember if you went much over 4000 rpm it made my ears bleed practically:S .
Some Woman pulled out in front of me on a 2 lane motorway to avoid hitting the car in front.
Was a clio as it happens. Clio came off almost perfect apart from the boot not shutting
Just an update for anyone interested:)
I have just got home from picking my car up after getting the cambelt done.
To say I'm happy is an understatement:D
Just got it done for £270 without the water pump because he said it looked as good as new still.
Admittedly i got mates rates but...
Also have to agree with dk on this one. But I prefer to use it on my PDA phone compared to a standalone unit. Much smaller than a Tomtom when you take it out of the car.
I would say your less likely to leave it in the car in the first place with it being your phone as well.
