Did you buy a 3rd party warranty for your RS?

I've said it before and will probably say it again. Have a look at the AA breakdown and repair cover. It isn't bad and only costs as little £105 or so. It covered more than the crappy 1 month one that came with my car. http://www.theaa.com/breakdownrepaircover/terms-conditions.html#parts

Did you give your 1*2 full acceleration in your test drive?

Was that the one that fell to bits and cost you a fortune? I was given the keys and let out on my own on most of the test drives I had. Had to give it some to see what it was like and make sure I chose a quick one. Remember on one test drive the sales man came in the back with my old man...

HELP! 172 Cambelt -jumped a tooth?????

Like said you could get a decent new RS for that money. I think thats why most go for the 1.5k transplant in your shoes. But if you can check the damage yourself then its worth a try.

HELP! 172 Cambelt -jumped a tooth?????

£4500?:S ? From what I've read on here your only looking at around £1500 to replace the engine. If your doing half the work yourself then might be able to fix it for less.

Would your colour of been your first choice?

I must admit I like the glacier white from the pics I've seen. There is a Fiesta ST in the same colour at work and that looks nice too. The White equivalent of iceberg silver

    Q for the network gurus

Ping "ip address" with -t on the end will work better. It will run a constant ping until you stop it then just scroll up the screen and see how much it dropped out. Its not so good if your time (in ms) goes to much into triple figures all the time either.

Major head ache!!!! Bike rack for the 172

As DrRollo says, use the boot. I have one of these for mine http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17885 Does a fine job of protecting the interior from scratches and crap.

    PDA's who uses them?

Well if you insist on paying for it. http://www.stuff-uk.net/?s=ST-1C90.062 But if your using what I put above it wont work. You only have 64MB storage (and it resets when the battery goes flat). You would need to get a wired GPS receiver and memory card.

Just push it back in if it goes, if not get rid. Mine got dragged along the road so had to go. Can't see it doing any harm without.

    Couple of problems

If you mean the foam that is on the plastic undertray then don't worry. Mine fell out the other week and the oil on it will be very black and from the gearbox. After posting about it I was told its normal for the gearbox to weep a bit. Don't think there's any point replacing it.

She let me down on friday night - The Red Button

So where is this button located? Engine mounts would need to be very bad to cause that unless the sensor was bad.

Cambelt, worth getting anything else done at the same time?

My neighbour is an AA man and recommended a cambelt specialist he knows just down the road in Milnsbrige. As I know the AA man he will do me all the parts at cost and got quoted around £300-320 or something about 6 months ago (without the water pump though). He's also the type (so AA man says)...
