where are you measuring? I measure the length of thread below the spring seat. If you're confident that it's all 100% correctly fitted, then try measuring up everything off the car. make sure the springs are the same length, etc. Hard to say with any more detail without seeing what you have
price doesn't seem the best indicator of quality with this stuff. I can't stand samco's personally, they fit well, but they dont last too great in my experience. Never fitted Forge stuff. SFS is great, Venair is great, Viper stuff is ok but a bit thin
it's always possible that it's the pump. rare but it does happen. Quite a big job as it's far eaier to take more off and give yourself some space. I take all the cambelt covers off, remove the aux tensioner, and then you can get to all the bolts easier
general rule for anything like this (ie not designed for this use) is that it can be made to work, but you need to work it out. Using anything not off the shelf is a rarity so you're unlikely to find much, if any clio specific info, but there's thousands of threads on hundreds of forums about...
are you talking about the ABS ring teeth? if it's a cup it wont have ABS.......
Genuine ONLY is important. if you use pattern parts you'll have knocking within a week. service exchange shafts ARE now available for a little under £150 (approx £100 less than new)
try turning the ignition on for a few seconds then off again (to prime the fuel pump) then start the car. I'll bet it starts and runs first time. If so it's just a slightly lazy FPR not holding pressure when the car is sat overnight
