    Possible To Paint INLET Manifold?

it's high temp paint, no primer needed (done that before, it doesn't go hard LOL) de-greased in the part washer, then a wire brush, blast off with brake cleaner, then a few coats of paint

    next best thing to ds2500?

1155s are closest equivalent to ds2500s. Good pads

Black Bag like thing with foam in it and covered in oil under car, what is it?

it's an oil catcher/soak-away if it's come loose just bin it

    D7F726 or D7F720

the difference is only one heat range so wont notice on the vast majority of cars. Go for the 5's

    Auxiliary belt lower idler

slacken the gearbox mount, the engine will move over about a half inch. Re-tighten the mount, then drop the engine down low so it's almost on the subframe. Should be able to get to the bolt with a swan neck spanner or a socket on a small breaker bar. I've never got a ratchet in there

    inlet manifold

oh right, well in that case it's probably worth it if you have things like fuel rails and linkage already
  8. S

    Auxiliary belt lower idler

bumper off is the easiest way
  9. S

    inlet manifold

no, only an SF manifold Jenvey will do you an adapter though, but you're better off sticking with SF bodies IMO

    Auxiliary belt lower idler

it's 118.80+vat, so £139.59 full retail from renault for the kit something weird to take note of, JUST the tensioner on it's own is over £140 if you order separates rather than a kit

    Couple of Problems (172 cup)

I'll PM you, can't put prices here

    Couple of Problems (172 cup)

idler on it's own is ~£46. Depending on when other work has been done or is due, a new aux belt and tensioner kit would probably be the most sensible option while it's apart

    r/r results

I've driven a 1 litre corsa, wowomg the brakes were w**k LOL Looks like you got a decent ATW figure at least. Graphs would be interesting to see :)

    Couple of Problems (172 cup)

ah, in that case it DOES have the lower idler. In which case you need it looking at as soon as possible really, if that fails it could chew up the aux belt and do a lot of damage to the engine
  15. S

    Couple of Problems (172 cup)

cup doesn't have a lower idler. Would need to have a look/listen to say really but could be a cambelt idler

    How tall are you ?

6ft ish. Clio driving position is pish (mk1 and mk2), the wheel is too high by a good couple of inches. Mk1 seats are SOOO much better than mk2 though

    Auxiliary belt lower idler

it's approx £46 from renault off the top of my head.

first phone was a philips C12 on BT cellnet PAYG, like a few others. Was a sack of s**t and wouldn't send texts so I got an 8210 on contract. Epic little phone, I was so cool

    Aircon pump removal

lots of options, using both new and used parts 172 cup setup, about £450 for eveything new inc alternator, or get it from a breaker. Also need to mod or change one PAS pipe Laguna 1.8 8v (maybe 2 litre also) essentially the same as the cup, but uses older style wiring on the alternator...

do clios have a torsion bar?

the mk1 clio does, but the mk2 uses springs

    Clutch pedal-not enough travel

i'd think a stretched cable would be the most likely and most obvious thing to look at first

How much do you spend on each oil change?

err i think you've got that the wrong way round. 75w80 is everywhere and cheap, 75w90 costs more, approximately double actually. 90 is also what Agency Transmissions say to use

Non genuine exhaust = less power??

those things are like pea shooters. bloody aweful

    182 cat

i've seen loads of 182s that they're blocked or breaking down. No 172s though.

How much do you spend on each oil change?

I'd have to double check autodata when i'm in the workshop, but i think that's 3.1 litres

failing to retain coolant problem :-(

be easiest to find the leak if you let it dry off overnight actually. Coolant normally dries kind of white and furry or crystalised so that should lead you to the leak.
