ITB Filters - What do you have?

it's actually hard to say what is BEST. 30mm should be about right, but being really fussy and spending time experimenting with the distance (and mapping at the same time to see if there's imporvement) can get you nice extra torque, as the filter can work as a baffle

ITB Filters - What do you have?

you need to leave room between the filter and trumpet. For a start it will rub through the filter if you dont, secondly, ITB Trumpets take air primarily from the side not the front, which is why individual socks aren't great

    ticking noise from 172 cup

shouldn't do that. I dont know how it was done, but i always flush the inside of the VVT pulley very thoroughly, and they seem to get noisy after a cambelt change if this isn't done

    1.2 16v Misfire (53 Plate)

lol, that thread is funny. £1300 for a loom hahahaha. they're about £150 new from renault, and a couple of hours labour, plus probably a bit of diagnostics time, as there's a lot of fault codes get thrown up and you can't tell what the loom is causing until it's replaced. I've seen 13 fault...

Odd limiter issue / engine not getting up to temp on a 182 FF / Cup packs

Thermostat. I think more cars than is realised need this changing. It takes ages for a properly functioning thermostat to open, most open within a couple of minutes

car sounds like an old scooby HELP!?

oh if they've jetwashed the bay, there's highly likely water in the plug holes. Jetwashing engines isn't clever

    172 Cup advice

1 service in 7 years? cambelt 2 years overdue? That's a grand overpriced

car sounds like an old scooby HELP!?

no, Platinum. NGK PFR6E are standard plugs without the renault badge and for a lot less cash If you want to diagnose which cylinder is missing, it's quite easy, just pull off the injector plugs one at a time with the engine running, and if it makes no difference, you've narrowed down...

    421's OR Piper Cam's With No iTB's

Fly by wire itself isn't the limitation, it's the ECU controlling it 421s work fantastic. My favourites in an F4R. You just have to man the f**k up and get a proper ECU
