ah, someone else then.
not much you can do but check that you have enough pedal travel for the cable to go slack....ie make sure you're not slipping the clutch very slightly all the time.
mk1 GTE is cool. Not the kind of car that should be owned if you're not very competent with mechanicals yourself though. That's far too nice an example to be neglected and abused as a daily driver
talk to CAB and trading standards for advice. Think i already said that's's not the dealers fault IMO though, sorry :(
should be able to get another engine all in and fitted for considerably less than Renault want to charge you though
there's a spray laquer as you say. last one i did came in a kit with wrap and spray together. Tweeks should have it

probably a loom fault. It's not just the ECU plug cover rubbing that causes problems, Got to get it on diagnostics really.
It's possible it could be a manifold/airbox gasket leak
Dell have some really good online ordering deals at the moment

perfect for the non expert/Geek tbh, do what they say.
can get it on orange through Carphone Warehouse. I almost did, but the insurance price took the piss, so i'm waiting for official orange release......sadly :(
ah that's lots simpler then. most likely pedal, throttle body, or a loom problem. Should be same throttle body as an F4R laguna. Small chance it's the ECU itself, but mush less likely
is it the IDE? Pretty problematic. Quite a few faults that dont turn out to be what the fault codes suggest :( They have loom problems, faults with the VVT and EGR solenoids, and other seemingly random annoyances
I did mean a bit harder than an old 8v or the like where much bigger gains ar normally more obviously found from poor castings. I know there's plenty you can do, just a bit less obvious to the un-trained eye ;)
I've done lots of head for customers. Normally as part of complete engine builds in honesty, but it's not that unusual. The thing is, the F4R is pretty decent to start with so it's a bit harder to find the gains. Peak numbers often dont change much, but if you look at the midrange you see a nice...
biggest gain you'll see from headwork is torque really. Had a look over CNCheads stand at autosport and there was some nice work.....though i personally hated their F4R head design
No real reason for there to be a lip like there is on the one pictured
on the ph1/cable throttle body there's a lip on one side for a reason. Basically it's only opening on one side of the throttle plate to give finer throttle control at low end. By removing it you're essentially giving...
