    How to? f4r 738 to 172?

only difference that matters is the vac hose to the carbon canister. just block that up and it'll go together nicely

182 Exhausts, same sound as standard

Piper is the quietest for the 182 if you keep the cat. The fitting is also the most straightforward. Janspeed/k-tec one is fine, but not as quiet

    197 ITBs/SC/Turbo?

my understanding (and i'm sure David will correct me on the detail) is that KTRsport is a branch of the company, but promoting a more serious performance bias, without changing the focus of the original company

    197 ITBs/SC/Turbo?

because of the far longer list of electronic functions, and the more complex dash they're on the ktr sport site IIRC

What size bolts for mounting engine on engine stand....

I normally use studding and nuts for mounting on stands. It's not high tensile so not quite so strong, but it doesn't need to be, and you can cut it to whatever length you need

    197 ITBs/SC/Turbo?

i dont think it's THAT far off ;)

    197 ITBs/SC/Turbo?

The 197 is lots more complicated than the 172

    172 Sump gasket

it's a rubber gasket that sits in a groove. No liquid gasket needed, and you can remove the sump with the subframe on if you lift the engine high enough :)

too bloody right. 205gti over anything else with wheels TBH (I own 2 BTW ;) and a 2 litre mk1 clio ;) )

    Surrey Rolling road results

Mine used to have a valver manifold, fitted a williams one not long ago and the torque and peak power has gone to s**t :(. last time i listen to williams bummers. Admittedly it's not seen a dyno for re-mapping since changing the entire exhaust system. I REALLY need to finish making the 172...

that doesn't look safe, the tophat isn't meant to be used on standard struts

    If there is...

aux belt breaking might have smashed the cover

Had the 172'd mk1 RR'd today... do these AFR figures look right?

a perfect curve on WOT would be 13.6 below 4.5/5k and 12.9 from there on. you can almost disregard fueling below 3k on a power run as it's taken up the tailpipe a 225 is different as it's turbo'd
  21. S

    maybe cams?

    no, completely different, sorry

Had the 172'd mk1 RR'd today... do these AFR figures look right?

hence not being the map causeing the biggest issue ;)
  23. S

    If there is...

k4m? lower cambelt cover is broken and you can see the water pump pulley.

Had the 172'd mk1 RR'd today... do these AFR figures look right?

it's RICH from 5.6k onwards. something deeper going on with this than a map though IMO

    Sadly Missed

even as a repaired write off, it'll be worth more than you've paid out already, the body damage looks mostly cosmetic, i'd fix that all day long, especially being a black one
  26. S

    fuel fail

you want a phase 1 rail and injectors. valver injectors are totally different and wont work

    Hub Nut Removal.HELP!!

    fact. best investment EVER
  28. S

New engine in, now high and climbing revs on idle

air leak or throttle body not plugged in. most likely the teardrop shaped rubber seal under the plenum isn't seated
