    Renault Quote on Belt change

oh goody another myth is taking off This isn't necessary at all unless it's actually noisy. I clean them out thoroughly with every belt change and it's been noted to reduce noise at idle by a few customers never seen an F4R waterpump fail either

    stripped thread on engine

m6x1 the thread isn't in the rocker cover, it's part of the breather box, so you could completely remove it from the car in about 5 minutes if you wanted

One Clio to Rule them All...

mk4 golf? Really? and better tham a mk1 golf? LOL Lack of the 106 GTI makes that list a joke, it IS better than the saxo (interior, appearance and perfection), and was THE best hatch made in it's time.

    mk1 valver f7r megane engine swap ?

Pretty sure Stan's reply was aimed at 2 Live suggesting you just stick the bigger valves in and it works. That would be pointless without having the seats machined to suit

    1.4 16v cam?

Catcams do a range, think C&B do too

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

ah right not bad. Still....that's just a ratio, the wheel and housing are small. Take a look at a T3 from a cossie for example, the exhaust housing is a lot less restrictive, but they're quite laggy

    think it's 0.48 actually

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

compressor isn't the limiting factor, the exhaust side is

same thing ;) terminology changed to be technically correct

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

yeah they're different, not so different to make too much difference though

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

I'd be torn between the GT28R and the GT28RS 0.64AR. the R is better for earlier boost, the RS is quite laggy but epic

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

a 182, one of the first k-tec did for a customer I think
  15. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

the boost scale on that log is as 214kpa top line, 165kpa 2nd line, so peak boost is 15/16psi and making 282bhp
  16. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

that turbo will NEVER hold 22psi, turn it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no wonder you're getting drop off and power loss 18psi stable is what you should be aiming for, you're pumping in hoter air, not more of it
  17. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

top is RPM, middle it Boost (controlled by Profec B)
  18. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

that graph's not showing boost drop off, just power, torque and AFR/Lambda. I do have a data log from the ECU though......hang on
  19. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

shouldn't get too much power drop off, you'll get some unless you're running a BIG turbo, making 280 at peak and still about 270 at limiter
  20. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

I think you've mis heard some of the details there, the Greddy Profec B wont connect to the omex, it controls boot independantly. Clever piece of kit and the only boost controller i'd ever recommend
  21. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

Dont look at the boost curve quite so much, look at the power. Boost can drop off and power hold on right to the end, and vise versa

Cams! Bigger injectors to be on the safe side?

standard injectors are fine for ITBs, let alone cams on their own

    kangarooing at very little throttle

mine's started doing it this week at exactly 20% throttle (very light) from 2 to 2.5k, and it's horrible in stop start. Plugged in laptop and the lambda isn't functioning so pretty sure it's that

    V6 belt change cost

Cambelt doesn't need the engine out Mike
  25. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

i've not played enough TBH, BUT the 197/200 has controlled variation so you can adjust cam timing within a range (think it's 45 or 50 degrees) and change that timing throughout the entire engine range, so basically the overlap can be controlled, rather than just a switch point like the 172/182...
  26. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

pretty sure it's about a 50 degree range oh and cams in supercharged engines dont work in the same way as in turbo engines as you're not relying on the exhaust to run the turbo. NA profiles are pretty damn close to spot on for a Rotrex
  27. S

200 supercharger, turbo and re map and ecu

lucky there's fully variable VVT then really ;)

this K-tec are just low on stock (as are most powerflex sellers) because the powerflex factory burned down a few weeks ago Check that this other place ACTUALLY has stock
