his was (IIRC) a BBtuning kit originally. Those kits look like a T25 to me.
The current K-tec kits all use a GT28R (2856)
Big power, I'd go for a tubular manifold an a GT2876R.......oh i've just made a mess
^^ Truth
It's compressor stall you're talking about
External wastegates do make a monsterous noise when vented out of the the exhaust, but that's a fairly involved bit of work, with no discernable gains to you in this case
i use timing tools for taking it apart too.
How easy depends on your skill and knowledge. If you're ok at manual labour and have a decent knowledge of engines, it's straightforward enough. If not, pay someone, it'll be cheaper than ruining it
no point whatsoever. I've put £12 plugs in 182s before with no detriment to performance, and none of this "ooooh clios have to use the oem plugs" Sparkplugs are very simple in their function, as long as you use the correct grade (and there's many types which fall within that remit) you're...
ITBs alone would be around 200. but again, dont get hung up on the numbers. You can see 200bhp without ITBs, but you'll make a LOT more torque in the midrange, a significant amount at peak, and generally more EVERYWHERE with them.
those are the mounting bushes!!!! jesus christ dont ditch the thing mounting your suspension to the car for a piece of crap strut brace that does nothing but look pretty
that's a K&N M's if i'm not mistaken. Excellent filter, but they dont do well on clios due to position behind the radiator causing heat sink.
A clean and re-oil and it'll be good as new
good laptop. Would have gone for it myself if it had a rs232 coms port. Went for a Medion from saisburys with 250Gb hard drive and 4Gb ram for £293 in the end
my bet is you're used to a car with a hydraulic clutch rather than a cable. Dont worry about it unless it actually starts to play up IMO. not a cheap thing to do
1.4?? says 182 under your name??
the k4j (1.4 16v) is a little different, has a different aux belt run, and the waterpump which are prone to seizing is off the cambelt.
Turbos tend to give a huge torque kick quite early. Can "feel" fast, but it's more likely to spin the wheels. You wont see nearly the peak torque with a Rotrex, but the delivery is very linear and makes for a very quick car
See this is where the subtlety of the supercharger comes in. The 260bhp 172 with a rotrex felt faster and easier to drive than a 280bhp turbo 172. It's not all about the peak numbers, and the torque curve is very important.
