think there's different versions as the studs in the head (that the cover, and therefore the locking tool bolt to) were in a different place. Was a laguna.
Not convinced by that as i spent half a day sourcing a K4M locking tool and all that was listed was F4R from several specialist suppliers, you can definitely get them non renault. Havn't tried any of these though I might add.
yeah I know, seen 3 different torque settings in different places, think those numbers came from dialogies rather than autodata in the end, either way the torques are different for the 2 pullies, the bolt on the de-phaser is just torqued not angle tightened. Think we worked out that Autodata...
Fred's right, you need to lock it all AND jam the flywheel while you tighten the crank pulley bolt. Cams are 30Nm + 90degrees on exhaust and 100Nm on inlet as it's a different fixing (hollow bolt not a stud and nut)
I wouldn't panic, kind of car (special/limited edition) that gets bought to say you've had one rather than you really want to live with one for most people IMO, so most owners wont hang on to it for too long
pattern systems are worse than standard, and they're not that great to start with. Renault prices are crazy though, bit of a dillema if you dont want to uprate.
I'd go for matched inlets. Dont think i'd de-cat entirely at all really, but think that's a personal taste thing as i've never liked noisy exhausts that drown out engine noise
ASTs are fantastic, they just WORK, I can't explain how much difference they make over a cheaper setup. I'm starting to sway away from Konis for my 205 project, and that's practically un f**king heard of
PF97s work well but I've seen the aftermath of hard track use on them. Andy managed to set fire to a set at Oulton Park which destroyed all the caliper seals, They also ruined a set of wheels and the paintwork was pretty badly damaged. Dont think they are intended for a full weight road car...
this statement worries me as you dont use teeth to time these engines at all
can happen if you tighten in the wrong sequence and dont jam the flywheel while tightening the crank pulley bolt, can take a couple of attempts to get it perfect,
Got to agree TBH, Think you're down on power. Should expect 165-170ish from a standard 182 on non optomistic rollers which is about 140-145 at the wheels
it entirely depends how much extra is in there. I routinely overfill my 205 at the moment because the stem seals are shagged and it's burning oil, more than about half a litre extra would be highly likely to give excessively high pressure and start breaching seals.
Re: Engine help
Not much, but you'd need to be prepared to keep upgrading things (gearbox for example). Depends how hands on you are. The K-tec turbo conversion is about £6.5k fitted IIRC, we just fitted and mapped Omex on one and it's a nice conversion. For over 300bhp I'd specify a GT28RS...
