Progress is being made at a nice pace now! There’s only a couple of small jobs now to fully complete the build up of this engine.
Bring on the trumpets! A view into the abyss Rudimentary cam timing tool - essential for belt changes. Another view into the abyss! Final look inside before the...
Lol! I’ve come on a long way since that first time when I was in with you and cub mate sorting out my loadout!
I’ve not had a massive number of wins, we are talking 8 or 9, but satisfying none the less. 👍🏻
Update time!
Cams finally fitted and timed up. After all the dramas over the last few months, it was nice to get in the garage and get involved. With no details on cam spec, I had to go with a recommendation from a guy I know, so it’ll be interesting to see how it performs!
Now it’s time...
Yeah I’ve used it a few times. I’m not an amazing sniper, but I’ve had some entertaining ‘downs’ with one. With the right setup they’re good for quick scope and fire rate too.
Well that’s certainly not what I’d expect to see mate after that period of time, but I guess it can depend on how much work it’s had.
Yeah seen the pm buddy 👍🏻 I’ll reply later on as I’ve been flat out busy the last few days.
Yeah I’m meaning internal mate, but it may be the reverse gear idler is worn. They have a bush in them that wears, so it may be that making a noise when the gear is engaged.
Drop the oil and see what the oil colour is buddy. That’s the best indication of a bearing failure. Particles galore and...
So Grp n offers a couple of benefits. It gives a better midrange punch that you don’t get with the standard engine, and it also alters the dynamic compression ratio. You do get some improvement in the power up top as well, but I never felt the need to rev mine out - and I’ve got proof for...
We blank them off because they only offer an opportunity for the oil pressure to be piss poor when they get stuck open (which they do). It also reduces the amount of oil being thrown around in the bores - always a good thing.
The cooling side of things can be done from adding a bit extra fuel in.
As promised! Get yourselves a brew, sit down and strap in.
So remember the custom cams? Yeah me too. They were made with all the vvt drillings and threads for the bolt. If you don’t know this, the thread for the dephaser pulley bolt is bigger than the exhaust cam stud. So we had a custom made...
Yeah Graphogen ftw mate!
Yeah I do mate. It’s primarily for use when the engine is going to sit for a period of time, but it offers plenty of protection for that initial start up of the engine.
New ECU Master components and the Maxx Race ECU. (Tom is a dealer for ECU Master - if you need owt speak to him 👍🏻)
Time to get the party started and do a bit of dialling in the cams
And in the next exciting instalment there will be a lot of disappointment, swearing and very large dose of me...

Long time since any updates on this! There’s been a lot of stuff going on that’s needed custom parts, but I’ll go into that in a bit more detail later on. For now it’s a few pics - everyone likes pics. King race main bearings Graphogen loveliness King big end bearings original oil feed in the...
No problem, but everyone is entitled to their opinion mate. If you don’t agree with @N0ddie opinion - just move along and forget about it.
Oh and I own a PS4. Lol! But that’s because I’m more of a Sony fanboy. Good job there is such thing as cross play as I know lads with Xbox, pc and PS4.
