Mate don’t even worry yourself about that. It’s only when the journals are heavily scored and you can feel it with your finger nail that you’ve got problems.
Those journals are in very good order for a f4r cylinder head - trust me I’ve seen way way way worse than that.
The exhaust cam always...
Something else worth checking is the tightness of the lower spherical bearing in the housing. Lift the front end off the ground and unbolt the 2x bolts from the lower spherical holder to wishbone. Leave the main nut for the pin tight! With those 2 bolts out, the ball joint holder should move...
Well, yes and no lol. The main thing is, all areas of concern were identified and rectified mate. But there was a lot of head scratching going on in my garage on sunday morning before the culprit was found - and it wasn’t even the actual real culprit of the issue in the first place 😂
I’ll leave...
Gripper is a plate diff with ramps that transmit 100% of the power to both wheels when they lock. The Quaife is a torque biasing diff and it transmits power to the wheel that’s spinning.
Erm..........? When are we booking you in?!
The gripper needs a service after around 2500 miles (ish) if it’s set up for trackdays. Regular oil changes help to extend the life of the friction plates in the diff as well.
Easy way to check the diff as well. Jack the car up and leave one front...
Any decent machine shop should be able to do that mate. If it’s not something that can be done, they should also be able to advise why it can/can’t be done. 👍🏻
Any bearing shop can supply them mate. You’ll just have to give them the dimensions. They can work off SSA 16, but from my experience they got the wrong bearings. However they did rectify the problem!
Yes and yes. Once a car is over a certain age, they don’t have to make replacement parts anymore. I’m pretty sure it’s 10yrs.
I’d like to think they won’t stop making parts, but it’s a real distinct possibility for the future.
The only issue is if Renault make items like the synchros NLA mate. There will be a lot of dead gearboxes and Renaultsports if that does happen! They have already done it with a few items now annoyingly.
Funny you mention the Grp n timing. It was something I was going to add in here as it’s...
I’ve looked on the website mate, and I think it looks great. Sent the link to a few of my mates who are into detailing and they’ve come back with some feedback. 👍🏻
None of it is negative, so hope you don’t take it that way. Here’s what they’re saying:
Asked if you will be supplying...
Ffs. I got a kill with that last night as well! Came running up the stairs and blew his face off. Sounded like a 10yr old when he was screaming down the mic 😂
