Your better off setting it up in the neutral position with a assistant mate. Allow the gear selector at the gearbox to go to the neutral position, then get your assistant to hold it in the stick in the neutral position in the car. Tighten it all up and check the selection. That's how I always do...
Cheers mate! Well we have options on the seal tbh. If Renault don't have one I can get one sorted out off eBay. Same as the Renault item as well.
Sound mate. I'm aiming for it to be done for the weekend or sooner, so I'll keep you posted.
Thought I'd upload these pictures in here for Mr bashracing!
Here's the gripper pinion along with new 3rd, 4th and reverse gears. This one shows the size of the new gripper diff and crownwheel. This required modification of the gearbox casing to get it to fit! Lol! Then we had a small...
They're different sizes for the loom mate. The original loom doesn't go all the way to the post cat, as its the post cat that has the longer length lead.
Yeah do it with the caliper still attached. Are you replacing the cables? Pair of pliers and give it a real good wiggle. Spray plenty of wd40 at it and leave it to soak in first though.
The conical spacers are more so that they sit on the landing of the ball mate. If they move enough to require that, it's either the axle bushes or the shell is fucked!
Are they both spherical bearings? Or is the top one a rubber bush? If the top one is a bush and the lower is a spherical bearing, use the lower ones. Less compliance and less likely to fail like the rubber bushes do.
Your gearbox choices are jc5 089 which is a ph1 speedo drive gearbox with a different final drive. Jc5 129 is also a speedo drive gearbox and is found in ph2 172's and cups. Some have the speedo drive sensor fitted and some don't. It also has a different final drive to the 089.
The gearbox that...
If this doesn't clash with any of the good 'Ring dates I'll come along I think. Assuming I can convince myself to stop being a lazy t**t and finish the car off of course.
I used to run v2's on mine and found them too soft for track work. Ideal as a track/road setup though.
I eventually went for stiffer rear springs and had the rear dampers revalved to suit. Still not stuff enough! Lol!
If you plan on running slicks, they won't be any good I'm afraid mate. Your...
Just personal preference. I see it as a lot of faffing for no real world gain if your sticking with the standard inlet. Solid lifters and a 8k plus rev limit, then yeah worth looking at deleting.
Well you've got to overcome the belt tensioner if you skim too much off the block. Difficult to say the power output, but maybe 220bhp. Depends on if the pistons will hold out tbh.
Lol I'm still 25mph off the speed that Jann Mardenborough was at when he took off at flugplatz.
@Knuckles heres the current speed limits and where they are located. Being lifted for 2016 apparently as they're smoothing out flugplatz as 1 of 16 improvements to the circuit for safety reasons.
