By the looks of it you wont be needing rack bushes as the twingo rack in the picture bolts straight to the subframe. Which is actually quite a nice feature, should eliminate any play in that area.
Ill have to keep an eye out and see if they come back in stock then, cheers for that. Dont suppose you know what the height mesurement is? im guessing around 12-13 inches.
It looks spot on in the vid I just looked at. Easy to get lazy after a while, my arm use to hurt after a good drive when I first got the car lol. Paddle shift with auto blip down shifts ;)
Thats exactly what i am looking for :) Im guessing you had those extra brackets welded on? so the rad is fully welded and not a combination or weld and epoxy? They do a similar one for the mk2 golf that i was looking at getting to modify.
Missed shifts are normally down to user error/shift cut time to short on the STDSA. Once you make sure you give a good possitive pull everytime on the lever i found that i rarely had anymore issues with missed gears. Correct shimming of the cut switch also makes a big difference.
I need to get a shorter rad for my rally car so i can run a filter box on my ITB's. Is there a decent size/quality rad that can be used from another car (not the polo/ibiza one) or a good place that can supply a custom made one for reasonabled money.
Cheers,
Mike
Could the gearbox breakage be due to the extra power? Always been sceptical with wacking another 70hp through it and expecting it to be fine. The Group A cars they were designed for were only 220hp from memory with probably a lot less torque.
15mm on the front with cup wishbones, hits the bumper bracket all the time which pisses me off. Spacers are purely for looks, i found my car pulled a lot more through the steering after fitting them. Felt like the car picked up through the steering like that of a go kart because of the extra...
Ive searched countless threads now on 197 cams and cannot find a definitive answer as to whether you actually need to change the timing to get the gains with a standard inlet. The 197 uses exactly the same cam locking tool as the 1*2's so is it actually that benificial to change the timing on...
What would people recommend out of the following 2 options for best performance:
1. Decat on standard exhaust
2. Standard Cat and Ktec Stealth
I have both the decat and stealth on the car already but i cannot be dealing with the noise anymore. Its on a 172 cup.
Thanks
Mike.
Does anyone know what the stock front spring rate is on the Gaz GHA's for a 172? Want to get some different springs as the stock ones are way to short and have no preload on them.
Hi, I currently have a Ktec Stealth cat back system with a Ktec Silenced decat pipe fitted to my 172. The droning and vibration is really starting to get on my nerves now.
Im considering a different system, but i was wondering if i put the standard cat back on will it be any quiter than the...
Hi Guys, does anyone know what Amp cable Omex use in their engine looms? Need to extend my loom in a few places and need to order some cable tonight but not going to be able to get to the car for a few days to check exactly what it is. From memory it looks about 8 amp 1.00mm2?
Cheers,
Mike.
Only thing I can think of is the condensation created during warm up is going to stay in the oil rather than being burnt like on road cars or staying in the catch tank like on traditional catch tank systems. I get more water in mine than I do oil.
Got it all wired tonight, fired up first time with 60-2 trigger table and standard Renault settings. Daverb also had his running fine this way to. So not to sure who told you it does not work, apparently magnetically they read the same. I think the cup racer ECU was just a bit more picky when it...
Oh great, just what I wanted to here lol! My car has a billet flywheel so can't really just go buy a new one without spending a fortune. Surely there must be a way. Most 60-2 flywheels don't have the long tooth anyway.
Hi,
Just trying to configure the CPS on my omex 600. The map currently on ECU was set up for a 172 cup, im going to be putting this on my cup racer which has a modified flywheel. It is 60-2 still but the cutout in the flywheel is now missing the one long tooth and it is standard length like the...
I went Omex 600 with Jenvey's in the end, managed to get a decent condition second hand kit for reasonable money. Will get a Dash2 to go with it, X-dash would have been nice but in reality i dont need a colour display to tell me what my engine is doing!
Has anyone actually confirmed to see if the cup subframe part number is actually different? all sounds like a load of nonsense to me. Ive just fitted cup wishbones to my PH2 FF and i cannot see any difference in track to that of my old cup.
Was that from XAP in france Ian, or is there a UK dealer for them? I like the look of the SX-dash they do its a bit cheaper and by the looks of it will fit in the standard dashboard housing. Did you go for 45mm or 48mm Jenveys? I was thinking 48's...
Cheers Swede cup, the loom from Omex is it...
