I was trying to see if I could feel the judder today and I just couldnt get it to judder...come to think of it I havent really thought about it for a while now...oh well, if the clutch goes Im still under warrenty
It has been doing this since I got the car and that was about 8000 miles ago and nothing has gotten any worse, and nothing was picked up at its last service.
My previous car was the 1.4 16V RXE (Alize) and yes its a very peaky little motor that really needs to be revved to get decent power out of it, but then I feel the same about the 172.
I would guess that the 1.6 8v would have more torque which would help out on hills, and when the car is...
It can be done and has been done
There is a Sunflower yellow 172 owned by Greg Morrisan with a Garret t4/3 turbo (dunno the boost) and 30kW (41bhp) NOS that is tearing up the local drag strip with sub 12 second 1/4 mile.
The car is standard, apart from the 16" wheels on, but the overall diameter is the same, so that shouldnt affect geometry.
Ive found youve really gotta let off the power to get the rear out, but overall the car is stable
you guys would love the dealer I use.
Its the receptionist who gives you a run down of what was done during a service, and they even know why the spark plugs are not changed at the same interval as standard clios.
was it a mk1 or mk2?
The mk1s can be twitchy but more at the rear.
Youve gotta take into account that the car can understeer like a b**ch but once youre used to it, you take that into account.
If you do get the understeer, then lift off, and the tail will come out...pointing the front in...
cars with cats have a sensor either before , after or before and after the cat.
if the sensor is before the cat (engine side) you can remove your cat without all the alarms going off.
if the sensor is after the cat then if you remove the cat, the sensor picks up that the gases are all wrong...
yeah the mk1 do seem to be pretty quick if a little less refined.
Where I live (high altitude, poor fuel) the quoted time 0-60 for a mk1 172 is 8.4s and with a stopwatch I managed a 7.8s
He got out and tried to open my door (which was locked) so I called the Cops and sat waiting patiently in the car till they arrived.
They eventually arrived which still didnt stop the nob from threatening to kill me, trying to grab me, etc. They were only traffic police so the most they could...
:( I was rear ended on the way to work this morning by a real prick who obviously has no regard for other users of the road and this all with his pregnant wife in the car (who he is supposedly in love with and will do anything to protect her)
Im travelling along in the far right lane of a 3...
