That Maxogen doesn't look too hot. Why does it disappear behind the buklhead then reappear as it enters the throttle body?

I can't see there being any benefit. In what whay do they look different? The shafts may be a slightly different length due to the differing track width.

You shouldn't be putting your car in first when you're moving anyway. The best way to fill the gearbox oil is to use a length of pipe attached to a funnel. This will allow you to see when the box is full as long as you use clear pipe.

So just a m12x1.5 then Ben? Taps are nigh on impossible to come by in that size.
