790i chipset is very capable, and as long as you sort the cooling on it (ASUS use their own HS IIRC) then it's great - just the obnoxious nVidia stock chipset fan is rediculously noisy (and crap) and the reference cooler is shite.
Depends on the variant. A1 boards get the longest warranty, others only get 1-3 years dependant.
I've got an Asus Maximus Formula X38 board and it's pretty good tbh...
If you're blocked, messages sent (either online or offline) are not delivered. As for block checkers - google it, there's a load of them. All they can do though is see if they show as online - which means if they've set so that only people on their contact list can see their status and send...
Not true at all - it's much more scary to upgrade but to say it's not upgradable at all is a sweeping AND INVALID statement :) hell it's not even that difficult in most cases, just got to do the research!
MXM means that on some laptops, graphics is indeed upgradeable (although this never...
Second monitor ON his laptop - he's running his 22in off his laptop (through the port on the dock) and can then use the laptop screen as an additional monitor.
Entirely possible - use Fn+F8 to switch between the various modes chap.
In fact, it took TWO LATER Intel chipset revisions and a graphics card 2 generations newer (and with another processor, and 256MB memory extra per core) to beat it, and rather unconvincingly I'd say...
Overclockers just want to sell you a new motherboard.

If nVidia stuff was that rubbish compared to Intel, someone with an Intel board would have dicked on that score before it went out...
That'd explain it - as my laptop can play it at those resolutions with high traffic and ultra detail, but when I get it to native (1920x1200) you can tell it's nearly on the limit.
I've got a couple of 680i's and they're great. Rock solid platform and it's the one I got my Q6600 to 4.8Ghz on.
If you have to get latest and greatest, DFI's Lan Party range (DK X48-T2R is just inside your budget) is pretty good kit, looking to get my mitts on the UT X48 to bench over the...
I'm sorry, that's b****cks. You can't run FSX on ultra high on a GeForce 7100. If you turn everything up high on my two 8800GTXs then it struggles on a 1680x1050 screen.
15-18 months in HD boxes tend to develop a fairly critical issue where they have no signal. Issue is with the power supply, more specifically the capacitors. A couple of them swell up and cause interference and this causes all sorts of issues.
I've been waiting over a month now for SatCure...
Anyone know of any good alarm fitters (mobile, or Midlands area? Not too afraid to travel though as it's an important job!) that could strip out an old Cobra Cat1 and seperate RCL and fit a not too fancy Cat1?
Regards,
Mike
One of (if not the) first 138s, so not sure if that makes a difference - it's also got a huge spec list as it was the dealer's 'christmas tree'.
I actually prefer her wheels myself, but they can be a bit of a pain to clean! However I can assure you it is a 138 Dynamique S...
Photoshop is not a disk-intensive application so is an APPALING way of judging a system's performance. Your systems will be limited by either the amount of RAM in them, the memory controller, or the processor.
However, on boot there is a massive bottleneck in the way of the HDD, and the same...
Windows XP users are unlikely to see the benefit of RAID as significantly as Vista (or Server 2003, or XP x64):

Amongst that is a tremendous increase in potential throughput in the Storage subsystem.
RAID owns, PCFormat is one of the few publications that genuinely annoys me because of the amount of shite they put on their reviews.
£250 to the first person to beat those read speeds across the board with a single drive based on traditional rotating platter technology.
P.S. - You won't. ...
